Airbus got their DAS 25 off to a great start on day two with Etihad Airways & FlyDubai both announcing large orders from the European manufacturer.
Airbus booked a number of other orders today as well, two coming from exclusively Boeing operators. FlyDubai are to expand with the A321NEO while Air Europa are to renew their current Boeing 787 fleet with the A350-900. Etihad Airways announced orders to add a number of Airbus widebodies to their fleet:
Boeing had a slightly slower day today with the GulfAir:bahrain: 787-9 order from July being firmed. Boeing also announced that FlySafair will take some NG 737-800 while also adding some 737-MAX 8.
I did see the B77X stole the show as usual, but perhaps more of a spectacle right now than a realistic option for most airlines at the moment. I think that’ll change once they are type certified and start delivering initial orders.
Boeing added another MAX order from Fly Dubai the order doesn’t specify which variant of the MAX family, but shows the local airlines will be making the most of AL Maktoum Intl airport in 2030.
Airbus booked some top up orders from Silkway and Emirates while also adding a new airline in Buraq Air joining the 320NEO order book.
Away from the big OEM’s DeHavilland sold a number of their classic Twin Otter 300G in India
Airbus has completed the main assembly of the prototype A350F. The revolutionary new freighter, designed to compete with the 777F, should be ready for flight testing shortly.
It’s so painful lol. The only consolation is with the new Emirates orders and no further cancellations it is at least solidified as a money earner for Boeing so it shouldn’t be cancelled or a huge loss for the company.
I know right, you can see the moment it catches the fuel line and the fire begins, plus just how much thrust the engine has now it no longer has a fully laden MD-11F strapped to it. Terrifying.
So freakin tragic, there was nothing the pilots could’ve done, either, they probably didn’t even realize what really happened. May god be with them and their families.
basically the airline is swapping the old A319 that are 24 to 27 years old A320s that are 18 years old and the A321 that are 6, I dont know if changing to 737s is a good idea because the it will cost more to train new pilots for 737s then get more A321XLRs but seeing 737s in the rouge livery would look cool
