Always thought there was a gap to either AMS or CDG, BA used to do both but have ceased both services. Along with some other business destinations like JFK and BCN (flew this one on a 734)

Yes I did LGW-CDG-LGW in 2003 on BA B737-400 went to Disneyland Paris, on way back because turbulence was bad we dropped a few thousand feet. As we was only at 26,000ft.

Are they trying to discourage traffic on the m25 by doing this work?

I still hope that some flights to go to regional airports in the longer run rather than all the good ones at Heathrow only!

British Airways will deploy the Boeing 777-200ER from London Heathrow to Madrid. Taking effect on March 29, when it’ll switch to summer schedules based on IATA slot seasons, it’ll be the first time the carrier has used widebodies to Spain’s capital since 2022. BA will begin three additional routes from Heathrow next year, albeit not on the 777.

First look! Five Boeing 777-200ERs formerly of Singapore Airlines and Scoot were acquired by Iran in mid-2025, avoiding sanctions by using shell companies and flag of convenience registrations in Cambodia and Madagascar. The first one painted in Mahan Air livery has appeared.

Need this in the game for Heathrow.

Interestingly enough, this is formerly Emirates’ A6-EBW, which I have travelled on last year from DXB to HKG for Chinese New Year so it’s good to see an aircraft that I once flown on getting a new lease of life.

So long G-TUID . She’s been sent to Kemble for scrapping. Only 12 years old.

Appears she was leased and lessor didn’t want her back as she was nothing but trouble mechanically.

You can see the badly covered Thomson titles showing under the TUI on this aircraft.

Are we not getting the TUI Belgium 787 in its place? Can’t see how TUI would get on next summer with less 787s.

I’m presuming something like that, maybe the TUI Nordic 787. Can’t imagine them struggling in the UK to meet demand without doing some moving about. Someone in the comments said they’re ordering 789s to replace it but pinch of salt and all that.

To be fair, that’s not a bad idea. Get some more 787-9s and then keep a few of the 787-8s and convert them to all economy to fill the gap left behind when the 767s got retired. It’s a good middle ground until the MAX 10s eventually arrive.

we are getting new 787-10s to replace the A330s and 777s soon. we are also getting A321XLRs to replace the A320 family and 737s that are moving over to rouge, so whats happening over there isnt to far off whats happaning here.
