maybe a pity for spotting, but really there was no other option. Four engines just doesnt work economically or environmentally.

Well, as long as we are a warring species, at least we’ll have the military 4 engines for a while (8 in the case of the B-52)! And despite what they might say, I don’t think military is worried about environment or economics.

Depends, 4 engines worked economically previously. Environmentally I can definitely agree as you’re burning 4x the fuel instead of 2. I just feel like previously things used to be made because they both worked and were cool. Now everything is made because it works. I see it in all aspects of construction and vehicles and such. Why bother making a warehouse that has character when this is the most economical way to do it and you end up with 70 of the same boring metal boxes. I see new build estates all across the UK now that you wouldn’t be able to tell where you were in the country. All cars are the same SUV/crossover in white, silver or black. All planes are a twin engined NEO nowadays.

I don’t know, maybe I’m just getting old lol. I’m only in my mid-20s but I wish it was still the 90s or early 2000s when you had variety.

Again though you can apply the same to that lol. Since the end of the Cold War Europe has basically given up with producing it’s own stuff. I suppose it’s still semi diverse with the French and Swedes producing their own fighters but Airbus has the monopoly now on refuelling and transportation aircraft. No more Transall’s and the likes.

Well they reason they got retired was economic, an A340 is just never going to stand up next to a 777.

QANTAS’s first Airbus A350-1000 ULR (msn 707 ), now with engines fitted, has been once again seen in Toulouse. The airline is banking on this aircraft for Project Sunrise, ultra-long direct flights between Sydney and London and New York.

Another 777 for the devs to add lol, it’ll probably have slightly lower performance than the 777F we have in game.

It’ll be interesting to see how Tupolev can make this work.

See, I’ve seen a lot of this and personally don’t have an issue with it but I understand he didn’t get permission and the risk was there. But what are they gonna do, fire him?

I’d have loved to have been on that flight though, would’ve been so cool haha. There’s some other video footage from a passenger out of the window and another car with it flying over.

Air France is retiring its A330-200’s as of 2027 with all routes being taken over by the A350-900 and B787-9.

Get yourself on a flight to St. Maarten if you fancy flying one.

In other news, EZY is due to begin Gatwick to Newquay flights after the financing fell out from Skybus’s flight that only began in February.

The February flights were operated by a leased 737-800 with only 12 passengers on the 180 seat aircraft for its inaugural once a day flight,

Due to the loss of Government funding and rising fuel costs, the airline has dropped the route meaning EZY is the only one now providing the lifeline route to Cornwall,

They were due to receive a Q400 to operate the route through to the 31st of May and were looking to increase the schedule to 2 flights a day and continue the contract for many more months.

Suppose criminal charges for ‘endangering people’ surely Iceland air could have let him go up on his own and do it :joy:

Heads up from @MercurialJustice9181 but seems Lufthansa Cityline is shutting permanently. Most outlets are reporting it as so whereas Reuters says it’s 27 aircraft being permanently withdrawn as of this week which I can only assume is the CRJ’s as Cityline operates 23 of them for Lufthansa.

https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/sustainable-finance-reporting/lufthansa-withdraws-cityline-subsidiary-aircraft-amid-rising-cost-fuel-2026-04-16/

I’m presuming the other 4 will be the 4 A321P2F’s the airline operates for the parent. They also operate 12 A319’s which I presume will become part of Lufthansa again.
