I wanted to say void against saying that this certain plane has crashed. But there isnt really a clear explanation of what happened and the plane hasnt been sighted so its best said that the plane did crash

Very old news and likely news whose subject matter we’ll never see, but thought I’d pop it in here anyway because its something cool.
Ecuatoriana was Ecuador’s flag carrier throughout the 20th Century until their bankruptcy in 2001. The airline operated a range of different Boeing and Douglas types (Plus a couple of A310s and 2 L1011’s) across the Americas.

Anyway, to the interesting news back from the early 2020s, Ecuatoriana was due to be revived by an Ecuadorian businessman with plans formed back in 2015 for an LCC to compete with LATAM and Avianca, operating under a model like Southwests and connecting the country as well as servicing routes not covered by the 2 other ‘Ecuadorian’ carriers. These plans were dropped and then relaunched in 2021 due to the loss of TAME. They were still in-place in 2023 but seem to have vanished. Here’re the 2 articles and some photos of the planned livery, the airline was supposed to operate 717’s and Q400s which would have been awesome to see.
For airline geeks, you’d have thought they could tell the difference between a Fokker 100 and a 717 smh.

Such a pity as it would been awesome to see Mad Dogs operating in South America for a good amount of time to come.

You’re right, it would have been incredible to even appreciate these beautiful B717s, but I say that because I’m Ecuadorian. But let’s be realistic, in my country today it’s very difficult to create a national airline because LATAM and Avianca completely dominate the Ecuadorian market, and if a new airline were to emerge, it would never achieve the profitability that LATAM and Avianca have in my country.

I am a real sucker when it comes to the comparison of the B717 and the F100/70 LOL. I cant seem to identify them unless they were side by side. But i did just see a photo and can kinda make the difference in the two. Is the B717 a C or B aircraft size by the way? If it is the same as the F100 because the DC9 would technically be the same as the F70 and be classified as B aircraft.
@LeChonk It is sad for the aviation world and for the families of the 5 crew members. This also sparks some concern for the Boeing 737 frieghter as it might be a concern for other airliners using the aircraft or even for the PAX conversion.

I don’t think it should, the aircraft that crashed was coming back from maintenance, so they probably did something wrong, I think it’s down to maintenance rather than the aircraft just self destructing after 20-25 years.

Buttttttttt it could spark some concern if they did follow procedure and it crashed due to pilot error. But who knows until the report and investigation is over.
A Ryanair flight which flew from Thessaloniki to Memmingen had an accident. A window on the in Malta registered Boeing 737-800 broke mid flight. A 61 year old passenger was nearly sucked out the plane.

And we have got Aviation beef bcz of the World Cup! Norwegian has made a bet with BA on insta. If Norway wins against England, BA must change their profile picture (on instagram) to Norwegian Airlines and the other way around!
Brussels Air has made a new livery on one of their A320s named “Red Devils”. It should be as a provocation to Spain (again, the World Cup, game Belgium - Spain)

news from montreal airport, a 737 max 8 operated by air canada flying from los Angeles (flight number AC774) had a runway excursion after landing, all passengers and crew are alright with no one being hurt, its to early to to say what exactly happened but i would say that the plane lost control or the pilots tried expediting to fast

That seems the most probable answer, but I will also highlight that they were flying pretty dang close to a war zone, and reported gps spoofing prior to the crash. Those are both fairly common issues in the Middle East rn but they are still dangerous. The possibility of some sort of military interference is there.

Could likely explain the navigation issues they were having but wouldn’t that also affect the hundreds of flights utilising that corridor and others too?
The IRGC do also have a bit of a history of having itchy trigger fingers and it seems suspicious it occurred around the point when all hell broke loose again over there. But then again it has happened before with aircraft having issues suddenly disintegrating, like TWA Flight 800.
Will be interesting to find out but I feel a lot of the media and social media hype is down to getting them clicks and because of its location.

I think I remember there was an Iran Air flight, shot down over the strait of Hormuz
That was back in the 80s with it being a US Navy destroyer having no trigger discipline. Height of the Iran-Iraq War though. I was more referring to the Ukrainian 737 they shot down in I believe 2020?
