Quite common on delivery, KLM, Alaska and Korean all ran them without but they fitted them later. Korean never bothered haha.

As of the writing of this article last year, there were around 80 NGs without them left in service. I remember flying one of Alaska’s wingletless 900ERs a few years back. It was from the very early production run of the 900er if I recall correctly, and originally served as a Boeing test airframe before delivery to Alaska. For whatever reason, the wings were not strong enough on that airframe to support winglets.

BABYBUS!!! CDG is a fabulous airport to do transfers at. Pity I couldn’t have been doing transfers 25 years back when it was all just 747s, A340s and DC10s. What camera do you use for your photos?

Yeah, CDG really offers a ton of variety when it comes to airlines, aircraft types, and destinations! You can discover so many hidden gems there. I am using the iPhone 17 Pro.

I was on an A339 in Barbados waiting to take off, but had to wait for an AN124 to land, surreal to see one ‘live’.
