Flew down to Lanzarote onboard TUI Airways 737-800 G-TAWN this afternoon! Rather unusually cruised at 25,000ft the entire way down
Incedent today
Tu204c had a fire in right engine. Airplain sucsessful returned to Ulan Ude airport.
Since Christmas is coming up. And my 2023 Aviation trip has come to a close I thought to myself and for the first time in WOA forums I think I will put it into a rating system. So far this year I flew 6 flights with 4 airlines and visit 3 countries all from my home airport in Dublin. Now the first 2 will not get anything but a positive response but the other 4 I will be dishing out Punishment for each flight that was bad. Now this list will not include holiday airlines so it won’t be including TUI and I won’t include Jet2 or other airline they are designed for people who are going on Holiday and me poking fun at them will not be the way to go and may decrease tourism travelling around the globe. However Airlines and Charter airline that are operating on behalf of a holiday airlines will count. Now some may be biased as most of the flights I took apart from 1 was at the rear of the aircraft while 1 was in the front. Now you may have a different opinion to my list so if you disagree with my list than that is perfectly fine and please to replay to me about your experience. However if you don’t like my opinion and you don’t want to share it here you can private sent it to other people as well about how unfair of my opinion. Well that is perfectly fine as well in fact this is the first since 2019 that I flew with an aircraft. 2020, 2021 and 2022 was unfortunately a disaster for I which I will not get into it. I will also includes the website I booked and the website if you want to book with this airline in the future. All costs provided are in Euros but if you want to find out the cost in your currency copy and paste into a internet browser and there should be the cost.
Anyways let’s kick of our list with No.6 and was a bit of a surprise even though it has some negative feedback.
And it is this:
Airline: Buzz
Aircraft: 737-800
Registration: SP-RSE
Age at the time of flying: 4.9 years
Aircraft name: N/A
Original owner: Ryanair
Route: Wroclaw to Dublin
Cost: €65 excluding extras
Seat: 23A
Flight number: FR1617
Date of travel: 14th of April 2023
Website I booked: Ryanair
View:
This was a surprise as a lot of staff went well. Although it is painted in a standard Ryanair livery some Buzz aircraft are painted into the Bee livery
Airport: Worclaw is small but large enough to handle widebodies it is also an airport where they served Polish air force, US air force and NATO. First of all got to the airport and there was one problem. The ticket agent at Wroclaw said that we had to mutch bags even though we did had duty free bags which was not included as hand luggage and we were forced to put all our stuff in that one bag. But after security it suddenly got off to a great mood. First before boarding after that other 737-800 landed that crew member (Was not on our 737) was setting up the front airstairs and saw me holding my camera and waved at me. After that I got some nice views during boarding. (Especially the rear stairs)
Seat:
This has the new interior which was happy to see although was not a fan of the overhead bin it was so large and low that I accidentally bashed on that overhead bin (I was fine) and there was a surprising amount of legroom. Although it is quite hard but good enough for a 2 hour flight. It was quite clean a bit of dirt around but nothing major. The one major disappointment is that the seat has no seat back pocket, no recline and a fixed tray table.
Arrival: that is were the fun started although we did not make a hard landing or that famous Ryanair Jingle I did saw USAF VC 25A 747-200 at arrival which was a huge suprise for me and i immediately got some pictures.
Conclusion: nice flight, Nice Crew, On time and a much suprise.
Let’s continue shall we? Ok lets move on to No.5 on my list and it is a very Colourful livery I flew and a livery I got right on the first try.
And it is this:
Airline: Freebird Airlines
Aircraft: A320-200
Registration: TC-FHL
Age at the time of flying: 13.5 years
Aircraft name: N/A
Original owner: Juneyao Airlines
Route: Dublin to Dalaman
Cost: N/A
Seat: 19A
Flight: number: FH648
Date of travel: 12th and 13th of June 2023
Website I booked:https://www.tuiholidays.ie/

Now this was my first time on a Charter Airline and my first time Flying Freebird Airlines which I was wanting to try for so long in fact right back to 2018. Now I did saw that exact same aircraft at home at my back garden approaching but I thought I will not be on this aircraft But I was wrong it was on that aircraft. Now although Holiday airlines don’t count Charter airlines count so that’s why I put it into the list. Can’t get price as I book a holiday package for me and my family and it is well over €1000 for it.
Airport: Dublin airport has 2 terminals which my flight will leave at T1. It was extremely busy that I arrived plenty of time of 3 hours before departure. Check in was slow but was one of the first people to be checked in. We got fast track for free cause my younger sister has special needs so once we went past fast track a staff member called us and said we can use it which was a huge plus. And it was very quick we got through in about 5 minutes. They have lots of Duty free and what’s better they have a store where you can buy Drinks which cost about €1 to get they also get refill stations which was for free which is the only airport I know that you can get bottle of water and refill the water bottle after security. After getting some duty Free and water I went to the gate and while we are there we spend about 20 minutes at duty free and already out bags was on the apron and another aircraft was there. Overall a great airport to visit Especially T1. We was the first to board for the same reason and we walked down the jetbridge I was near the L1 door (front door) and saw the crew that will be taking on this 4 hour flight to Dalaman. And we walked through the cabin to my seat which finding my seat was dead easy.
Seat:
I really like the look of the blue seats so I was excited to try it and unfortunately it was not the best. The seat was fairly Slim which makes sense since it has 180 seats the maximum of seats to be fitted without modification to the interior. Padding was not great as I did fell the pain after landing. Legroom was tight at like 29 inches which I am 180CM tall or about 5 feet. It has a coat hook which for me I didn’t use it. It has 2 seat back pocket one on the top and one on the bottom. And a orange cloth made from leather was also there although you can remove it if you don’t want to. It was pretty clean around my seat to be honest. we order food as this is a 4 hour overnight flight and paid €5. We arrived a bit behind but nothing major and after going to passport control I got all my bags and head to my bus which is heading to the hotel which is the start of my holiday. Although one of my 2 check in bags was damaged so much that it is completely unusable (got claimed and bought 2 more bags) i still had a nice time there.
Conclusion: Freebird is a alright airline it’s not the best but it gets the job done. But the next 4 is where the fun of our list became and the return flight of Freebird was one of them.
This will not be a list if I had not included a premium Airline. This premium airline was exciting at first but disappointed on board but exciting again in flight. And the airline I am taking about is this:
Airline: Aer Lingus
Aircraft: A320-200
Registration: EI-DVK
Aircraft name: St Brigid / Brighid
Age at the time of flying: 12.8 years
Original owner: Bought Brand New
Route: Dublin to Barcelona
Cost: €150
Seat: 14C later 11A
Flight number: EI562
Date of travel: 30th October 2023
Website I booked: https://gtitravel.ie/
View:
This website is not I booked from but I paid as it was a school trip which I paid from that website.
Now I must say that although I really like the old livery of Aer Lingus the new livery I must say I absolutely hate the new livery. Out of all Aer Lingus aircraft that has the new livery this is the first time I was on this livery most of the time I was on the old livery or once on the special retro livery.
Airport: I was at Dublin Airport T2 which is the newer terminal and first time there since 2019 so I was very excited to try out. Check in was alright staff could have been a bit nicer but was done quickly in about 1 minute. There is a cool AI shop but since my gate is far away I did not time for it. Although they do have US pre clearance which is like getting through passport control at the departure airport. My gate is at the South Gates and there is no tunnel to get between which we had to take a bus to that terminal.
South gate terminal is small which makes sense as this is exclusively for Aer Lingus. There was a few shops and Bars but other than that that’s it. Boarding was quick and although the aircraft I was on was the last one of the stands I got some nice views on my way and climbing up the front steps.
Seat:
In short: awful.
It has a coat hook which is alright but I did not use it.
There was plenty of padding on my seat and there is a good amount of legroom. It has a tray table which is adjustable. The seat also have a headrest which is adjustable not only from side to side but up and down. But the most Disappointing thing about this particular seat is they they move the safety card to the top. And to rub salt into the wound yes they decide they would seal up the seatback pocket.
How Cheap and Nasty is that. Keep this in mind, me and a lot of passengers on that aircraft once they find out that the seat back pocket is sealed up they were not happy about it. Some passengers did not mind it but for me and other people on that aircraft this is a huge let down. I mean they are slowly becoming the new Ryanair. Anyway after take off a passenger offered me a window seat which I obviously accepted and move 2 rows forward. They snack kart came and I bought a KitKat ,Tayto crisps and a bottle of Coka Cola of a cost of €7 after that it was uneventful.
Conclusion: An alright airline I flew but my biggest disappointment is the seat and that seat back pocket I mean come on. I think if I has to say a few words about this seat it will be… ugh what the FK is this st
All of this leads to my punishment so for that flight: Let’s pass Judgment:
Punishment: A reprimanding from Santa clause.
HO HO HO Ho.
Oh so there they are, that naughty little aircraft. No Santa is not cross he is just disappointed. No I don’t blame the children for there naughty actions, I often look to the Parents for the route cause, And mother Aer Lingus certainly did not do a good job on you. You new interior cost a lot of money, but you did not receive lots of love, apart from one passenger boarding by tapping on the door (true story) Now if you want Santa to help you I will be always there but remember, once you wings and Engines are torn off and you fuselage crushed into scrap, theres no going back. Have a merry Christmas you Aircraft and be good. HO HO HO HO.
This next one is already bad enough at the airport but went alright in flight and the flight that happened was this:
Airline: Ryanair
Aircraft: 737-800
Registration: EI-EXE
Aircraft name: N/A
Age at the time of flying: 10.2 years
Original owner: Bought Brand New
Route: Dublin to Wroclaw
Cost: €45 excluding extras
Seat: 23A
Flight number: FR1616
Date of travel: 3rd of April 2023
Website I booked: Ryanair
View (sorry of lightning as it was night)
This was a brutal flight as we were delayed again and again and again due to French ATC strikes and since that aircraft came from Reus it had to go around France to get to Dublin.
Airport: already did the same on that Freebird Airlines post look at it again but the gate I was I hadn’t said it. It’s spacious although a bit dated but I dose have all the amenities like cafe, shop, bathroom you name it. And after waiting for a few brutal hours our aircraft finally landed and pulled into gate, boarding was uneventful but here is my next disappointment.
Seat:
Sorry for the lighting as I took it before landing.
On this flight I was expecting the new interior which is more comfortable, sadly when I was looking through a window outside I noticed that it was the old interior of Ryanair which I’d starting to get rare as more and more Ryanair aircraft are getting new interior. So first of all almost no legroom on this seat which the reason is that the seat is thick, it has ok padding but no headrest, the traytable is fixed which means you can’t pull towards you, safety card on top of my seat is stuck down, and again unlike Aer Lingus which has seat pockets sealed up. This seat has no seat pockets at all, which is such a cheap and nasty way to get rid of a feature. Apart from this I must say the flight went nice and smooth the crew was lovely and it has a good menu which I ordered a coffee which cost €3.
Conclusion: I really do think this is a horrible flight and this is a time that you get what you pay for. Well it time for some judgement.
Punishment: A dishonest announcement on board.
Lady’s and Gentlemen welcome on board this Ryanair flight from Dublin to Wroclaw. Before we take off we are sorry for the delay cause of French ATC strikes. In order to continue the flight it is no problem just will arrive a bit late. And everything I said was a complete lie see you need to pay €100 to continue or we will have to cancel itm
The next 2 are very very hard to make a decision but after all of the points I tally up I must give this the next spot:
Airline: Freebird Airlines
Aircraft: A320-200
Registration: TC-FHP
Aircraft name: N/A
Age at time of flying: 9.6 years
Original owner: Air Corsica
Route: Dalaman to Dublin
Cost: N/A
Seat: 19A
Flight number: FH647

Although that first Freebird Airlines flight was alright this i think is a huge let down I will get into it on seat.
For me the yellow tail design looks kinda like a banana or a minion. Originally I was hoping I was on TC-FHL again but swapped during night to this which the pictures at the time dose not have a gray belly but once the aircraft arrived it did so that was quite misleading.
Airport: Dalaman Airport is an airport that operates seasonal flights to all around Europe and some parts in the middle east. It is also served by the Turkish Military which makes it very hard to plane spot because of that military zone, Ironically there is actually 2 security, the first at the entrance which we got through which includes prohibited items, the 2nd security is exactly the same only liquids are prohibited. It has a nice duty free to grab some nice shopping. Once I got to my gate the aircraft I was going on had landed and was taxing to the gate. Boarding was done though took a bit longer to board.
Seat:
In short: Absolutely Disgusting like seriously this is the most dirtiest I have ever seen now luckily I did not too the picture of the Lavatory as it is completely dirty which there was lots of water and Toilet paper on the floor. I have pictures below:
It only has 1 seat back pocket which was 1 less than the previous flight, traytable was retractable but again dirty, legroom is kinda ridiculous as it also touched that dirty part. Limited padding which made it quite uncomfortable and the most shocking thing happened when I looked underneath my seat and saw my lifejacket incorrectly put in and this is not just my seat I ask passengers around and it’s on every seat which is just a shoddy way to put life jacket.
Still it’s cleaner than this post on Twitter on board the same airline which i saw just 3 days before departure.
The menu was limited and got only a sandwich which is about €2. And all of this bring up that chaos as I felt the aircraft falling down cause that is how hard we landed and lots of people made jokes about Ryanair landing on that flight and made me think that the pilot are minions that landed this flight. (No offence)
Finally on arrival and at home I noticed that 1 of my 4 check in bag was damaged which I complained and after a few messages I was not at the airport to make a claim as there was nothing they can do which is fine cause it is my fault for not noticing but also it’s kinda there fault that they damaged it.
Conclusion: I was very disappointed about it as this has lots of colours on there fleet at the time 15 aircraft. (Now just 13) painted into different colours it looks nice but once I get to the very bottom of the Freebird Brand it literally exposed there dark secrets of cleanliness and brand all over there aircraft. And that is an absolutely disgusting flight. And now it going to go on a very disingenuous Christmas advertisement.
Punishment: Disingenuous Christmas Advertisement
Welcome to Freebird Airlines. We are hopping you
enjoy this trip, with a cheap product, why not try it out cause our minion pilots from Antalya and Dalaman will land hard In the water so you can swim to your destination without a lifejacket. Or next year you will regret it. Because Freebird might be dead. (Minions make A320 reach the speed of sound)
So we got horrible seats, Delays, how dirty aircraft is and broken bags, but this last one certainly did the worst possible things that I have never seen and the neglect of this aircraft.
Can you guess what it is?
Yes, It’s this Aer Lingus flight:
(Sorry for the picture quality as it was night and on landing my phone died)
Airline: Aer Lingus
Aircraft: A320-200
Registration: EI-DEL
Aircraft name: St Canice / Cainneach
Age at the time of flying: 18.6 years
Original owner: Bought brand new
Route: Barcelona to Dublin
Cost: €210
Seat: 25F
Flight number: EI565
Date of Travel: 2nd November 2023
Website: https://gtitravel.ie/
View:
You will be shocked on the condition of the inside of the aircraft cause this should be grounded. EI-DEL has trash the record of the oldest aircraft I flew which was EI-EDS and now EI-DEL is the Oldest aircraft i have flew since I started knowing about aircraft registration since 2019. I may have flown older aircraft before but this is the Oldest aircraft I know of.
Airport: Barcelona airport has 2 terminals which I will be flying from T2 at check in I asked the check in agent if there is any window seat available in the rear and thankfully I did got a window seat, it has a good amount of shops around and of course we can’t forget about FC Barcelona store. Now our flight left from the international side of the airport which although we are in the EU we are not part of the Schengen zone, so additional passport checks are in place but in my experience they just looked at my ID and let me through but even then there was broken plugs which was a shame cause I desperately need power which I had to use my power bank which did help a little bit but still not enough for landing and not only that but the window to airside are dubbed windows which is an absolute shame but we were able to board quite quickly.
Seat:
Although the seat was better than the first flight , the interior of this aircraft shows some really worrying stuff that may cause a flight safety risk. First of all I had trouble finding my seat, normally I looked at overhead bin to find my seat but it was located on the bottom which I did not even see so I had to bend down and find my seat. The seat is almost the same as on the previous flight but the only difference is that the seat pocket was not sealed up which is a huge plus and it is more comfortable than the first flight. Even then I saw some worrying red flags around first it was quite dirty which is expected on a quick turnaround since we were delayed by a bit. 2nd when I looked at the seatbelt and no smoking panel I noticed that one of the lights was burned out.
This is what every seat looks like on this flight.
Than I saw checked in luggage thrown into containers from the luggage cart and loaded on the aircraft which I saw my bag thrown and I believe loaded into the front cargo hold. Now the next 2 thing is not the airlines fault but I have to point it out. Passengers was moving around while the aircraft was moving on the ground and even then on takeoff I have felt probably the worst turbalance I have ever felt so if passenger was still moving they will probably get injured and this is not just a light turbalance it was a severe turbalance but since we already on takeoff no one was injured but this was a pretty hectic ride and I have it all on camera which i will not show for obvious reasons.
I bought a Fanta and a chocolate bar for €4 which is not that bad.
When I head to the bathroom I noticed that one of the bathroom was disabled and a crew member sent me and one other passenger to the galley and I was standing near the rear left service door which is the same door that is used to board and deboard the aircraft if dual boarding happened. But when I was in the bathroom it was quite dirty look at it.
But after landing the worst thing happened we were so tired that they brought stairs to the rear of the aircraft as well as attaching the jetbridge to the aircraft and after the ground crew knocked at the door and we told the crew to open the door the cabin crew straight up refuse to open the door we told them again and again to open the door and the ground crew bang louder to get there attention again the cabin crew still refuses so we had to push our way to the rear of the aircraft to open the rear door ourselves which the crew member just blocked the row to prevent us to open the rear door and the ground crew bang even louder and also attempted to open the door themselves as well but while we were pushing ourselves to the rear I noticed that the front was getting clear so I did abounded the idea of opening the rear door and move to the front of the aircraft to get off this piece of s**t. After that flight I contacted customer service to complain about that broken aircraft and after 1 message and a phone call they refused to ground the aircraft for maintenance which is appalling they know that this is a broken Aircraft and instead of apologize, ground the aircraft and fix all the issues they instead kept it in regular operations which I feel bad about the passengers who flew on this aircraft after the flight.
Conclusion: if I say a few things about this flight I will say that people involved on this flight brought shame on this aircraft, brought shame on Ireland and brought shame to Aer Lingus and themselves. All of this is just an embarrassment to tourists coming to Ireland which is a beautiful country to visit. I seen Aer Lingus long haul product and it was good so this should be brought to there short haul, its a premium product with premium prices and it fails to deliver every this is like my 22 Aer Lingus flight so far and both flights are bad. If you want to fly to Ireland please avoid Aer Lingus unless you really need to or to experience that S**t, it really is a rip off.
As a punishment we’ll prepare for me to get angry.
Punishment: An incredible merciless rant
The world is a mess, nobody can afford anything anymore, the aviation hobby is dieing, the industry is on its knees, and we got leeches like Aer Lingus using Broken, old aircraft in exchange for profit prices! I walked through fields of cow patches and seen better reputation than this! I built aircraft at the age of 1 and a half and it’s better than this when I used to play with clay! I can’t even use the bathroom as it is so Dam broken! So instead it becomes a module a logo of everything wrong in the world! And an example of every single one of god 7 deadly sins! Rubbish! It allows the suits at Aer Lingus to grow fatter! Greed! That one speaks for its self! Sorrow! That greets anyone that board this aircraft! Raft! That fallow shortly afterwards! Laziness! That was Aer Lingus when they brought this aircraft from the canals of death and fails to fix it properly! Vanity! For that let’s look at the workbook!
(Holds a hammer to outline) ‘Good to Great’
Get Over yourself Aer Lingus, it is what it is what it looks like a sTy new livery and finally, FIX YOUR F*G AIRCRAFT! Well I can’t think of any object less likely to bring about lost! Unless if it is a lost of Destruction!
Rant is over
I hope Aer Lingus dose not read this and come after me for this rant.
I will still show some highlights I took in 2023.
I got this weird looking helicopter which is a cross between an helicopter and a trike ultralight.
Ex TC-ACE as a restaurant
Fire fighting aircraft at Marmaris (the same place I was staying)
Russian airline with Russian registration stolen
Flew over Schiphol airport
Probably a brand new A320NEO EI-NSD which enters service the next day
Forgot to include: emergency vehicles at Barcelona.
I really hope you enjoyed my list of flights of 2023 and the punishments are for fun not to get the airlines attention to it and I will still fly all of them apart from maybe Freebird in the future.
Thanks for reading
Best flight review ever!!! By the way I saw stolen a320 Aeroflot in Amsterdam Sliphol airport. Why they can not sell those airplains for another airlines?
Johannensburg - Cape Town with Fly Safair JNB - CPT
This flight was in the spring 2023.
Fly Safair is a small south african airline thet have a fleet of B737-400/800.
This flight was on Boeing737-800 (sorry, a do not remember registration number). It was not so old because it had Sky Interior cabin.
Flight took about 2 hours.

What aircraft and registration it was? That aircraft included was stolen from Bermuda
I do not remember registration. I think it was bermudian.
It was airbus320 - 200 with sfm56 in Aeroflot livery. By the way I have flight this airline and this aircraft.
Also, I just realized something about lhr. Doesn’t the miniature a380 in real life have the wildlife livery instead of regular Emirates like we have in game?
I don’t really care if it’s fixed or not but just putting it out there to see if anyone else noticed.
Also, does anyone else find the fact that Etihad announced the return of their a380’s a little over a full year ago terrifying🙋♂️. I remember the exact moment I watched it in a simple flying video and the fact it was already a year ago shows how fast time has flown by since Covid restrictions lifted
In fact my local airspace will be closed later today for Santa and all flights tomorrow will be suspended in fact there is only 1 departure from my local airport tomorrow and may not depart
Very windy today at LHR
