Real world Aviation (sharepoint)

Yeah true, though I would expect a premium airline to more likely serve snacks than budget/low-cost. And I feel like the demand could warrant an A319 or A320, but the only of those that fly in currently are Allegiant Air. I’m actually not sure if a B738 would fit at our gates but if an A320 can, maybe…

Off to LHR tomorrow, expect a few pics!

Back to 3rd of August 2019 on my way home to Dublin after a fantastic holiday and a fantastic crew on this flight home from FUE. EI-EDS was the aircraft I flew which was repainted a few months after this flight. I was also on EI-DVM which has and still is painted into the special retro livery. Please don’t ask about the quality as I was a 11 years old and I had an old phone which I recently got it in running condition.

Wow you said something nice about aer lingus

That was 2019 at the age 11 when they had great crew and great service. Now 2023 (recently flight) at the age of 15 service begins to nosedive into Ryanair. now there A320s and service are so bad it’s funny.

I’ve only had 1 flight with Aer Lingus on one of their A321neos (EI-LRD) between DUB and LHR in July 2022. I managed to get an AerSpace ticket for £90 each one way so thought I’d give it a go. I can’t really complain but we did have a delay over 2 hours and they could try a bit harder catering wise (put BAs club Europe service into AerSpace on the short haul A321 flights and they are onto a winner). Crew were pleasant but not the happiest I’ve ever seen. The lounge at DUB is rather underwhelming for their flagship lounge, especially compared to what you get in the BA galleries lounges at LHR.

These days the low cost and leisure airlines put full service carriers to shame, take a look at airlines like Jet2 which do a lot of things right, particularly customer service and making things as easy for travellers as possible

And just to show how bad it is. I took 2 flights to Barcelona and back in October and November on EI-DVK and EI-DEL last year. EI-DVK crew was nice but once I got to my seat uh oh seat pocket sealed up.

Other than that nothing else that was a lemon. Crew was nice etc etc.
But the 2nd flight is where the fun really begins. First flight was delayed while I was waiting, quick turnaround like 30 Minutes, got on crew was lovely again. When I reached my seat I did not know that I had to bend down to find my seat as it below the overhead bin and as well as this broken light I also found.

On top of it one of the rear toilets was disabled and left late. Other than that nothing unusual. Until arrival where. And on arrival I saw I bet I or you have never seen before. They trap me and lots of passengers on that bloody plane for about 10-20 minutes due to a delay jetbridge deployment and even than when the rear steps was attached and the ground crew started banging the cabin crew at the rear just straight up refuse. And so with that the tired hungry people at the rear was so outraged that they started shouted and demanded and even gone as far as pushing to open that bloody door themselves this was just a comedy show waiting to happen.
And don’t even get started on EI-EIL/EIK also know as EX Qatar airways aircraft. Just to show how lazy they fernished the interior just look at these 2 pictures

Apart from the seat covers they changed pretty much nothing. Lucky was not on that aircraft and I will probably never will. I also booked 2 flights on Aer Lingus which will happen to summer and I can’t wait what there service is if it is a nice or is pure crap.

Never seen an aircraft in that state, worst I’ve seen is either loose window frames or missing seat pockets. At least you have the A321XLR to look forward to as the first one has appeared at the airbus factory.

I don’t know what Aer Lingus UK is like compared to Aer Lingus themselves, but it seems (from photos and videos I’ve seen) that we have some of the better condition A330s based at MAN

Can’t wait for there A321NEO XLR😉

Have a video of its takeoff roll too, not sure if I can upload it to the forum :smiling_face_with_tear:

Back to 12 June 2023 at Dublin
My gate that my flight left (305) was in an absolute awful condition. I found old unused boarding passes, a Christmas advert on the floor and Aer Lingus signs all over benches. no wonder that was behind the boarding desk (don’t worry the airside door was locked and I didn’t touch anything) but still how appalling is it?

A great day spotting at home which is over the flight path of the Northern Runway at Dublin airport.
