Yeah I was surprised as well I thought it gonna be another beepshow like at check in. And surprise surprise the seatpockets are not sealed up!

One up on the TUI 767 I flew on which had half of its seat pockets removed and their contents either in the seat next to it or thrown on the floor.

Also, if you booked through TUI how did you go about selecting seats on a flight operated by another airline? They’ve only just started to allow you to pick your seats when booking flight only packages on some routes.

Huh you go away the day before I go away for 10 days. My flights are on an A321neo and returning on an A330. Jet2 of course.

Flying to Jersey in 4 weeks with easyJet, something I look forward to.

Lets hope you get an A321neo that is painted in the full Jet2 livery!

Well, you never know. A lot of 737 flights lately have been using a 757, so a last minute swap to a 757 would be ideal. I had it with TUI swapping a 767 for a 787.

The half branded ones does make a cool little memory when they are all fully branded, I flew on G-VYGM last March when it was half liveried and G-VYGL when it was unbranded.

Never flown on a leased aircraft or a half painted one before, all TUI flights starting with a 5 this year (e.g. mine BY5526) all operate out of Gatwick South. I would take a 757 swap on that

I knew about the flight numbers relating to the day but didn’t realise they did it for leased aircraft. Other than their diabolical punctuality I can’t fault TUI (3/4 of the flights I’ve done with them departed over 2 hours late), might end up using them again next year, who knows.

MAN flights using the Smartlynx 737s use the standard flight numbers it seems.

Will try to dig out a photo on the ground at Zakynthos from around 2018 of a couple TUI 757s next door to one another. Got a lot from over the years.

I miss seeing the 757s at MAN, god a fair few photos saved of them myself.

At least you still get a decent few into Manchester, the closest I’ve got is the Icelandair out of Heathrow and the occasional DHL out of Luton.

Some photos I’ve dug out from the archives, a couple date back to 2016.

I’ve flown on Finnair but it was from Heathrow to Málaga. Ba needed aircraft and Finnair had loads of spare ones as because they border Russia they had lots of routes there. But when the war began they stopped the routes and had spare a320s. So BA wet leased them. Long story short Ive flown on one leased aircraft.

Simple answer: I checked in at Aerlingus.com by putting in my booking reference and on the email they sent me they clearly says that you have to check in on the airline website (Aer Lingus in this case)

Thanks god you and @ukplanespotter757 are going on fresh modern aircraft to your holiday instead of the Classic old aircraft that took me on holiday.

I’d prefer to fly on a 757 than an A321neo. Everything these days is either a 737 MAX, A321neo, 787 or A350…

757 is actually starting to become rarer and rarer overtime, not a lot of 757 passenger exists in Europe these days… The last one is supposed to leave in 2026 2027 something like that. I only know Manchester, some parts of Germany, Iceland and even a little at my home airport. If you really want to jump on a 757 than the best place I know is the US it’s expensive but worth it.
