Then flew BHD to LCY today onboard BA Cityflyer ERJ-190 G-LCYZ!

Well that sucks: Czech Airlines Airbus A321XLR & A220 Orders Cancelled - Simple Flying

I’m surprised CSA hasn’t ceased operations yet. Saying that, they are owned by Smartwings so I’d imagine they would just be merged into Smartwings.

They are going under reconstructure. For whatever reason, on Zdopravy.cz they wrote that next year, CSA should have 25 aircrafts in fleet including ATRs.

Edit: it was only 17 aircrafts and it was for 2023. Im such an idiot

Looks nice. Great to see a new carrier launching in the UK!

… and a livery matching the name :+1::slightly_smiling_face:

Interesting idea :joy:

Wonder if anyone knows what (I do) and where this is? One of the beauties that no longer flies (for the moment…)

Apparently Alitalia is stopping operations in October 14th, ITA will become the new Italian flag carrier

Wait so what’s going to happen to Alitalia in game?

I have no idea, but I know in the real world it’s stopping operations

Alitalia are ceasing operations because they’ve been in the financial dustbin for years now, and the Italian Govt. have had enough with constantly bailing them out. Therefore, they are closing Alitalia on 14th Oct, and ITA will commence operations on 15th October.

I’d imagine that Alitalia will remain in the game - 1) BRI is an Italian Airport and ITA won’t start with as big a route network as Alitalia, ad 2) Flybe are still in the game, so there’s no reason to remove Alitalia just because they’ve gone bust…

Jet2.com have ordered 36 Airbus A321neo aircraft. These will likely (however unconfirmed) replace their Ageing 757-200 (oldest 32yrs) and 737-300 (oldest late 20s/early 30s) aircraft as well as some older 737-800s which are approaching the 20 year mark.

This is particularly significant as Jet2 have always been a Boeing company, with an all Boeing fleet until G-HLYF was added to the fleet a couple of years back (possible livery idea?) - also excited to see what liveries and bases they are used at as Jet2 are a truly UK-wide company. Unlike BA who are solely based in London

In further news, Westjet are beginning service to Edinburgh and Glasgow from Toronto next year… Probably with the 737MAX8 - In total one of these 2 airports will be served every day of the week. A total of 7x a week.
