Royal Jordanian operated 4 Airbus A340-200s in their fleet, with this aircraft, registered JY-AIA, being the first to enter service in July 2002 and operating international long-haul routes to Europe (CDG, FCO, GVA, ORY & LHR), Asia (BKK & KUL) and North America (DTW, ORD, JFK & YUL). In November 2014, Royal Jordanian retired the Airbus A340-200, replacing the aircraft with the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
