LA520 Santiago (SCL) to Lima (LIM) on the LATAM Chile Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, what a gorgeous airframe.

We need more of the below. I shall start a hunger strike till my British holiday airlines are added in full
, gotta love that Monarch.
What a lineup, the BA is such a beauty the team have outdone themselves this time ![]()
Some Christmas Eve operations today at SCL ![]()
A Maroon Air 747 wearing the Flexi Alliance Livery is inbound from LHR, bringing many people home to their families.
The next international flight to arrive is this shiny 747 from Transworld, also inbound from LHR. Due to the high amount of expected travelers because of the holidays, many additional flights are scheduled.
Coming in from Washington, this Alain Airlines 747 is slowly decelerating down the runway. This elegant livery never gets old!
Even though cargo operations don’t play a major role for AeroBlue at their SCL hub, their subsidiary ABC (AeroBlueCargo) operates a few daily flights to Washington, usually with a Boeing 777. Due to the higher request of goods right before Christmas, the airline operates one extra Boeing 747. Let’s hope that all the presents carried here got received right on time (which shouldn’t be a problem when you travel by AeroBlue ^^). Waiting at the gate in the background is a Thruii Airlines 777 that is expected to depart to Washington soon after the 747 has taxied along.
The sun might have already set, airport operations however are still running busy. One of the last flights of the evening to arrive is this Pilster 747 that departed from Sydney a few hours earlier. Considering that many people already took a flight earlier operated by a Pilster A350 the aircraft is relatively empty passenger wise with only the cargo area full of presents.
With this post I wish you all calm and peaceful holidays and if you celebrate it a very merry Christmas! Thank you for being such awesome connection partners, WOA and forum wise <3
(I should more often write such little WOA-stories, it’s fun ^^)
Don’t normally do the past airlines, but I may for Monarch, flew on them month before they went under.
Went planespotting again, this time in the afternoon ![]()
Since Christmas Eve, operations may have calmed down a bit again but that does not mean that they are less interesting.
At first we have this beautiful A380 of Virgin Islands Airways inbound from Washington wearing an eye-catching turtle-livery that suits the aircraft really well!
This gorgeous 757 from ukplanespotter made a short visit as a random arrival from MSY. With AeroBlue only operating one 757-200 out of Santiago these planes are unfortunately a rare sight at this airport.
Far more regular visitors are the AeroBlue 747-8s, one of them is seen approaching Runway 17L. These aircrafts are mostly used on the route to London Heathrow because of its high demand.
Speaking of LHR, Transworld is one of the major operators to this destination. One of their elegant 747s is seen rolling along with the moon rising in the background. Those of you with sharps eyes might also recognize another AeroBlue 747 in the background. ^^
DM Airlines operates one daily flight to Prague, usually being equipped with a 747-8. In the early evening, named aircraft was photographed seconds before smoothly touching down.
With this photograph a successful spotting-session came to an end!
I love it when my planes show up as randoms somewhere! I’m positive I saw one of your 747s at LHR the other day from SCL.
Happy to hear it! I’m so glad that random player arrivals got reintroduced with 2.0, they add so much to the game
I much prefer the current system compared to the old one, where you were forced to handle almost every single ATR coming from INN, it’s always great to see a name you recognise pop up in the randoms though.
Is that your name @ukplanespotter757 as I have to see if I get one yours as a random. My only random aircraft at moment from here are A300 to Saint Maarten, CRJ 1000 to San Paulo and B777-200LR to Washington.
My in game is the same as here, I do send quite a few randoms out from some places so definitely keep an eye out.
