[UI] - Scheduling System Improvement Suggestions

:bullseye: What is your suggestion?

I would like to suggest some Improvements in the newly integrated Scheduling System in the game.

  1. Sort flights by Roundtrip Duration or Distance
  2. Show the Roundtrip Duration even if the flight is already added in the plan
  3. Add a Reset Airport Schedule feature
  4. Allow players to send flight commands from the Planner/Schedule Screen
  5. Allow players to insert new flights in between or before the currently scheduled flights.

:hammer_and_wrench: How would it work in the game?

  1. Personally I schedule all my airline flights wherein all Long haul flights must be scheduled first so that those that will depart first will not comeback immediately and so I can finish all the flights. With that it is very important to clearly see where are the long haul flights among the hundreds of contracts I have and sorting them by Roundtrip duration would be very helpful. If devs don’t want to add another button to sort the flights, my idea is to at least allow us to type the roundtrip time in the search box to filter the flights (ex. 06h will show all flights with Roundtrip Duration starting with 06h).
  2. Again for the same use case that I do with my schedule which is Long Haul first, when I buy new contracts that have longer or shorter Roundtrip Duration, in order to add them to the schedule I need to see the roundtrip duration of flights that are already in the schedule so I can add the new flight in between, before or after the flights in the schedule without going into the info window. I know this will increase the size of the cards but my idea is to show the roundtrip duration only from a toggle (Show All/Hide All) or by clicking the card of the flight wherein upon clicking the card it expands and show the roundtrip duration.
  3. There are times when you think you need to redo all of the schedule and right now you can’t do that all at once. You need to remove every single flight from the planner which is tedious if you have hundreds of flights scheduled. Another variation of this suggestion is to at least clear all scheduled flights for just the selected stand so that it’s not all the schedules that is cleared but still reducing the tedious removal of individual flights.
  4. These suggestion is about having the ability to send commands such as “Clear to Land”, “Confirm Stand”, “Pushback”, “Line-up“ and “Take-Off”. This could be just a small button showing the applicable command of the flight if you click the card with the yellow notification sign which is already showing in the schedule tab.
  5. Currently in order to insert a flight in between or before the currently scheduled flight is by removing all flights in that stand which to me is inefficient. My idea is to add left or right arrow that can be pressed to locate where you want to insert the new flight or simply dragging the card to the location that you want once added to the schedule(Add flight then drag to the desired spot).

:balance_scale: Why is this a good idea?

I know we have different ways in using the new scheduling system and this is just one use case. To me these suggestions are a great starting points in improving the system and I’m sure other players have more ideas to improve it.

We 100% need this. It kind of annoying especially at an airport like lhr where if you realise too late that you messed up the position of a flight on a stand you have to restart the whole thing so you can put it where you want to. Maybe this could work as a “swap positions” function, or a “drag and drop” for where you want it to be.

It’s fine, it would just be nice if it didn’t reset when first aircraft arrives back and just carry on the schedule as planned, oh and have it so we don’t have confirm all time.

How about adding an “Auto Assign” option as well? Of course, it would include priority settings like those in the “Delivery Controller.” Because I’m having an issue when I have hundreds of contracts and only use “Delivery,” it seems that the arrivals at the very bottom of the list never land anymore… That’s because the current “Delivery” system now works from the top of the Arrivals list, instead of from the bottom like it used to… Imagine if the top of the list is filled with short routes the ones at the bottom might never land, since they keep getting pushed back by new incoming Arrivals from those short routes that have already returned to the airport…

That’s like the schedule system, where if your first aircraft is on shorter route and its back it jump in the queue.
