Devs have previously mentioned that for the amount of resources that would be pumped into some airports and regions just isn’t profitable. Even though it’s quite vocal on here, this is a small minority of players compared to the total player base and they believe they would not make money off the venture. I’m all for a quick CNN style African airport though but I again think people don’t want generic’s so it’s at an impasse for the moment.

I am all with you on that, An African airport is what A LOT of people want. but there is also not a big rush for them as the majority of the player base would want someplace else. I want an african airport really badly, but it has to be waited upon.

As far as we know, nothing has changed to allow for an African airport in the near future. Would it be nice to have? Totally! There are some cool airlines that fly a lot of smaller planes in Africa that I’d love to see at my airports. Perhaps one day, but I’m not holding my breath until something changes to the above.

Dont hold your breath. I have been asking this question for more than a year…It is after all WORLD of Airports…but those of us who live in Africa might as well not exist on WORLD.

Europe - 5 (Soon to be 6)

Middle East - 1

Asia - 3 (4 if you count CNN)

If have seen people say but connections to Europe, Asia and the Americas would be a problem…meanwhile a flight from Johannesburg to Muscat or Bari is shorter than a flight from Sydney to Nagoya.

You’re not the forgotten group. Devs do have plans for an African airport. The only problem is after SCL’s release they realised the amount of time and effort that went into the airport and ofc the cost wasn’t offset as it had very low player numbers (which sucks cause it’s one of my favourites). Most players play either a big hub, or an airport close to them and sadly the player base in Africa is a lot smaller than elsewhere and the fear is player numbers will be low and the cost in developing won’t be offset. And also since generics were so despised by some players, it seems it’s likely been pushed further back with no chance of a generic first African airport.

Africa isnt a forgotten group, they are just taking their time.
