When will airports open in Africa? After all, Africa is a major tourist destination.

Devs have previously mentioned that for the amount of resources that would be pumped into some airports and regions just isn’t profitable. Even though it’s quite vocal on here, this is a small minority of players compared to the total player base and they believe they would not make money off the venture. I’m all for a quick CNN style African airport though but I again think people don’t want generic’s so it’s at an impasse for the moment.

I am all with you on that, An African airport is what A LOT of people want. but there is also not a big rush for them as the majority of the player base would want someplace else. I want an african airport really badly, but it has to be waited upon.

Let’s settle on Socotra (SCT) then… :winking_face_with_tongue:
It’s not Africa, it’s not Asia, or a bit of both.
It also fixes the missing Yemenia destination

In December, we got this note from the devs:

As far as we know, nothing has changed to allow for an African airport in the near future. Would it be nice to have? Totally! There are some cool airlines that fly a lot of smaller planes in Africa that I’d love to see at my airports. Perhaps one day, but I’m not holding my breath until something changes to the above.
