Why hasn't 2.2.8 been released yet?

Ask or discuss with any people wondering why hasn’t 2.2.8 been relased yet.

There may not be a 2.2.8, they might just skip to 2.3 which is the next major update.

2.2.8 is not the next release. Testing has just started on 2.3.
I cannot and will not say when it will be released as there is still much to do. But 2.2.8 is not it and I am closing this topic.
