🔁 World of Airports – Cross-Platform Profile Migration Guide

:warning: Version 3.5.1 – Profile Switching & Cross-Platform Changes

Hello everyone,

With version 3.5.1, we’ve introduced important changes to how accounts, profile switching, and cross-platform login work.

Please read this carefully, as the behavior has changed compared to previous versions.

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: What Has Changed?

You can now log in on any device using any carrier:

  • :green_circle: Google Play Games
  • :purple_circle: Apple Game Center
  • :e_mail: Gmail

:backhand_index_pointing_right: This means:

  • You can use Play Games or Gmail on iOS
  • You can use Game Center on Android

There is no longer a need to switch carriers just to play on a different device.

:link: Multiple Account Linking (New)

Your profile can now be linked to more than one carrier at the same time.

:backhand_index_pointing_right: This allows you to:

  • Access the same profile using different login methods
  • Increase account safety and recovery options
  • Switch devices more easily

Example:

  • One profile can be linked to Game Center + Gmail
  • Or Play Games + Gmail

:compass: What Is the Migration Tool Used For Now?

The Cross-Platform Migration tool is now used only if you want to permanently change your primary carrier.

Examples:

  • Game Center → Google Play Games
  • Play Games → Gmail

If you are simply switching devices, you do NOT need to use migration anymore.

:repeat_button: Profile Switching on One Device

To switch between multiple profiles on the same device, you must now use:

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Sign Out

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings → Profile
  2. Tap Sign Out
  3. Log in with another account

Without signing out, the game will continue using the current profile.

:unlocked: New Function: Unlink

We also introduced an Unlink function.

This allows you to remove a connection between your profile and a specific carrier.

:warning: Important Warning About Unlinking

When you unlink your profile:

  • That specific carrier is removed
  • If no other carrier remains linked, your profile becomes unprotected
  • Progress will exist only locally on the device

If you then:

  • Clear cache
  • Reinstall the game
  • Switch devices

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Your progress may be permanently lost

Always make sure at least one carrier remains linked.

:e_mail: Important Note for iOS Users (Gmail Linking)

If your profile is linked via Gmail on an iOS device, you may see:

“Not linked”

This actually means:

Not linked to Game Center

:backhand_index_pointing_right: Your progress is still securely linked via Gmail and is safe.

This is only a visual UI limitation, not a problem with your account.

:hammer_and_wrench: About Previous Issues

The profile switching issue introduced in version 3.4.1 has been resolved with this redesign.

Switching profiles is now handled via the Sign Out function, ensuring reliable behavior.

 Final Notes

These changes improve:

  • Cross-platform flexibility
  • Account security
  • Recovery options

We understand this is a significant update, and we appreciate your patience while adapting to the new system.

Hey Karel!
Cool that it’s finally coming to WOA!

  1. Question: if I stick with my device, I don’t have to do anything, correct?
  2. If I switch between my iPad and iPhone as before, do I have to do anything?
  3. Am I right in understanding that I have to share my account on Apple so that I can download it on Android?

:red_question_mark: If I stick with my device, I don’t have to do anything — correct?

:white_check_mark: Yes, correct.

If you continue playing on the same device and platform, no action is required.

:red_question_mark: If I switch between my iPad and iPhone as before, do I have to do anything?

:white_check_mark: No.

As long as both devices use the same Apple ID / Game Center account, your progress will continue to sync automatically.

:red_question_mark: Do I have to share my Apple account to download the game on Android?

:small_orange_diamond: It depends on what you want to do.

  • :cross_mark: For normal play: No. Apple Game Center and Android are separate platforms. You cannot use an Apple account to play on Android.
  • :white_check_mark: For a one-time platform transfer (when the feature is available): Your Apple ID is used only as a secure carrier to move your progress once to Android. After the transfer, the progress will be linked to Google Play Games.

:warning: This does not enable playing on both platforms at the same time, and it does not sync progress continuously.

:compass: Short Summary

  • :check_mark: Same device → nothing to do
  • :check_mark: iPhone ↔ iPad (same Apple ID) → nothing to do
  • :counterclockwise_arrows_button: iOS ↔ Android → one-time transfer only (when available)
  • :cross_mark: No simultaneous cross-platform play

Hello, just a quick question.

All of my progress is on my Android account and I also have an Apple account on my Phone. Would it be possible to also have my progress on my apple account and my Android account at the same time? I would like to play on both my Android tablet and my IPhone but with the same progress. It’s probably me just being an idiot but I just don’t really understand the guide above and was just wondering if I could have the same progress on my IPhone and my Tablet.

If so, what steps do I take? , and if I do some progress on my IPhone for example, would the data transfer over to my Tablet?

Many thanks,

Calling this “cross platform profile support” in the release notes (at least on iOS) seems to be high risk of confusion, as this would probably imply for a lot of people that you’ve added a way to sync progress over both platforms (e.g. being able to play the same WoA profile on an iOS tablet and an Android phone). Frankly, I don’t think I’ll be alone in saying that was kind of what we were expecting/hoping for.

Instead, we appear to have got a one-time profile migration (as you call it here), with permanent consequences of locking out your original Apple/Google account from ever being able to migrate back.

Hello,

This function allows you to move your progress from one platform to another in case you switch devices (for example, from Android to iOS or vice versa). Until now, players had to start from the beginning when changing platforms. In some cases, we performed manual transfers, but this required significant effort on our side.

Please note that this feature is not intended for playing on both platforms simultaneously. A profile can be actively linked to either Google Play Games or Apple Game Center at a time, not both.

:warning: Version 3.4.1 – Profile Switching Issue

Hello everyone,

With the release of version 3.4.1, a small but important bug has appeared that affects some players.

:red_exclamation_mark: What is happening?

Currently, it may not be possible to switch between different game profiles on the same device .

This is not intended behavior .

:white_check_mark: How it is supposed to work

You should absolutely still be able to:

  • Use multiple game profiles on one device
  • Switch between them as needed

The only intended limitation remains:

One game profile = one carrier account

(Apple ID on iOS or Google Play Games account on Android)

There is no change to this policy — only the switching mechanism is currently affected due to this bug.

:hammer_and_wrench: What we are doing

We are already investigating the issue and working on a fix.

Our goal is to restore normal profile switching functionality as soon as possible.

:folded_hands: We apologize

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause, especially for players who actively manage multiple profiles on one device.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we resolve this.

Fly safe,

:counterclockwise_arrows_button: Temporary Workaround – Switching Between Multiple Accounts on One Device

Some players reported that they are currently unable to switch between multiple accounts on the same device.

While we are working on a proper fix, the following temporary workaround has been confirmed to work.

:warning: Please note: This is not a permanent solution — it is only a temporary method until the update is released.

:compass: Workaround Steps

If you want to switch from Account A to Account B, please do the following:

:one: Sign out from your current platform profile

  • Sign out of Game Center (iOS) or Google Play Games (Android)

:two: Delete (uninstall) World of Airports from your device

:three: Sign in with the other platform profile

  • Log in to Game Center / Google Play Games using the second account

:four: Reinstall the game from the official store

:five: Launch the game

The game should now load the newly signed-in profile.

:white_check_mark: Confirmed Behavior

Players have confirmed that this method allows them to:

  • Play Account A
  • Reinstall and switch to Account B
  • Reinstall again and return to Account A

It is repetitive, but it works reliably until the issue is resolved.

:warning: Important Notes

  • Make sure each account is properly linked before uninstalling
  • Do not attempt to modify files or use unofficial tools
  • This method requires a full reinstall each time you switch

:rocket: Permanent Fix

We are already working on restoring normal multi-account switching without the need to reinstall.

Thank you for your patience while we resolve this.

Dear Charlie and Dev team,
I think since 3.50 is out there is a issue with the migration progress again.
There is already multiple bug reports issued. Just wanted to ask if you were aware of that?
Thanks!

I followed this guide up to step 15, with my old device being an iPad 6gen on iOS 17.10, and my new device being an Android tablet, but when I click sign in to apple or google on my android, it gets stuck loading on authentication and I can’t sign in.

Dear Charlie and Dev Team,

Just a little question, is It possible that I unlink my account with Game Center, but I link it back immediately? As there is a bug with my name of Game Center shown on WoA. Will there be any problems with my game process if I do so?

Thank you so much and looking forward for the response.

If you do it in the same session it should work without issues. Just be aware the game center name is not equal WoA name, those are independent.

Dear Charlie,

I can’t pass the AUTHENTICATION loading page so I can’t play WoA since I updated my phone, how do I get my old account back with my progress?

do you have any VPN or custom DNS entry in place? Authentication means that the device you use does not have connection to google services. Therefore the game does not find your profile on the server.

Hi Team,

I am trying to retrieve my Google Play progress, having switched from Android to Iphone. When logging in with my Google Play on IOS, progress is still not showing. I am a bit confused and don’t know what to do…I hope my Android progress isn’t lost permanently.

Hi, I have my GameCenter account on my iPhone, but I’ve now downloaded the game on my Windows PC too. On my phone, when I click on “Sign in with Google,” it lets me skip to the end, but the login screen should close by itself once I’m finished, but it doesn’t close. I have to click the “x.” Then, in the game, it says “error.” If I log in with Apple, it asks for my face ID, and then I get a white screen. But if I click “Open” on Safari, it says “Unexpected State.” How do I connect my GameCenter account to Google?
