The airport served 26.29 million passengers in 2024, an increase of 3.3% over a record set in 2023.It has 3 runways, 01/19 at 7,169ft/2,185m, 15/33 at 5,204ft/1,586m and 4/22 at 5,000ft/1,524m. It has 2 terminals, Terminal 1 being the older original terminal housing Frontier, Southwest and Air Canada Express and Terminal 2 being the newer, larger terminal housing all the US legacy airlines including American’s hub, as well as JetBlue and Alaska.

Routes are limited in distance away they’re allowed to fly as further routes are done by Dulles (IAD).
Unique Features or Challenges
Long taxi distances, terminal complexity, crossing runways and potential snowy winters. The airport is exceptionally busy with lots of traffic coming in from across the US and Canada with the largest type allowed to land there being the 767-200, though this was rarely used by US Airways, Delta, Continental, United and American with the 757 being the favoured largest type. It also features a lot of restricted airspace around it so has interesting flight paths out of some of the runways.
