Regional jet
Why should this aircraft be added?
The current existing version of the E175 in the game is the short-wing variant and should have ICAO Type designation E75S. The proposed version has ICAO Type designation E75L and has modified winglets that are markedly more angled outwards. All newer versions of the E175, from 2014 onwards, use the long wing instead of the original short wing.
Airlines that use it American Airlines (American Eagle) United Airlines (United Express) Delta Air Lines (Delta Connection) Alaska Airlines (Horizon Air) KLM (KLM Cityhopper) Fuji Dream Airlines
As of the E-Jet remodel in 3.0.3, both the E75S and E75L have been implemented in-game, however, both are still under the type E175 (which doesn’t actually exist as ICAO type designation). Given that the separate models exist, are there any plans to make the distinction explicit?
Based on the ICAO aerodrome reference codes based on wingspan, class C aircraft have a wingspan between 24m and 36m. Based on this classification, the E175 in both cases (E75S/E75L) should be C class. I understand that it’s set as B to make them accessible in early game, however, for comparison, the wingspan of the E190 and E195 is 28.73m which is only 8cm wider than the E75L and that aircraft is classified as C.
I Honestly wouldn’t mind the 175 and even the 170 being C class, especially for the games performance reasons. Seeing them not backtrack at SXM like the CRJ700/900 looks weird cause they need the roll out
If they could bridge the buffer for them to still park at B gates at IAD would make it perfect
It’s just like the 757 being able to park at certain C stands
The ICAO Aerodrome Reference Code B is a wingspan between 15m and smaller than 24m and Code C is 24m and smaller than 36m
The 170 has a wingspan of 26.01m, so technically it’s C if we’re going on wingspan.
If we’re going on Outer Main gear wheel span then that’s a B but then it wouldn’t be accurate for example the 757 which is a D according to wingspan but a C according to gear span. But I’ve noticed other planes as well that aren’t classified correctly
But either way the E170 doesn’t operate as a B plane IRL
I’m just going about realism here and not personal preference
search: In accordance with the table, the reference code for the EMBRAER 170STD and 170LR is 3C.
But tbh my overal point is that the devs could consider re-imagining the current categories for stands as it’s much broader than it currently is and could enhance the capabilities of the game more.
At the end of the day, I would also love for the E170 to continue parking with B class planes but operate as the C type it actually is. Same with the 757. Cause it can park with C class planes but it’s technically a D plane.
So you’re trusting an AI generated overview over Embraer’s own documentation? Yes the gear span (5.20 m) would imply class B but the wingspan implies class C. If Embraer says its a C class aircraft, then I’m inclined to believe them.
TBH even if Embraer says it’s a C class, I think the bigger point is that it can indeed hang with the B class planes but is officially a C class. It’s like the B757, it can hang with the C planes like the B737 and A320 but it’s still a D.
I’m just hoping for a buffer in regards to operation standards on certain occasions, Like with stand allocations in i.e. LEJ. and I kind of have an Idea what they could do to achieve that
