Why should this livery be added?
Aer Lingus operated 2 Boeing 767-300 for a brief period of time between 1991 to 1994, as Aer Lingus had a small fleet of Boeing 747-100 since the 1970s operating the US East Coast via Shannon as Irish law demanded, but towards the end of the 1980s, Aer Lingus had plans for new long-haul service to Los Angeles that the Boeing 747-100 didn’t have range for.Aer Lingus gained traffic rights to Los Angeles but refused to operate the service via Shannon but it would want to fly direct from Dublin and ordered a pair of brand new Boeing 767-300s to be leased from Guinness Peat Aviation for the service. However there was no resolution to the dispute and the Los Angeles service never materialised leaving Aer Lingus with a pair of Boeing 767-300s it had no use for and had mounted debts to Aer Lingus.
Aer Lingus would leased this aircraft, registered EI-CAL, to Aeroméxico & Air Aruba but in 1993, Aer Lingus found itself on the brink of insolvency and the cost of the 767s was a minor factor. Both 767s would return to their lessor in February 1994 and join TWA.
