Game progress suddenly disappeared

I’ve been having issues accessing my account again after this morning, I basically lost my internet connection last night, apparently they are doing maintenance, my game was working perfectly fine, then all the sudden I went back into it this morning, and all my progress has just vanished, and it said about loading player data or initialising player when I load the game up, now I don’t have a clue where all my progress is gone, is this the correct place for this?

I do believe this topic has been mentioned before on here but I can’t find any resolution

I’ve just found a YouTube video where this has happened previously after an update and the person did the link account to game centre, which says it will delete the data, but then after he did it it relinked his account and everything was back again. Should I try this? Or should I try other things before?

You have most likely just been logged out of your Apple Game Centre account. In the top left corner of the home screen there is a player name diplayed. If it says “Player[random string]” instead of your Game Center user name, click on the link button next to it. Confirm the pop-up question and your progress will load back up.
