LHR Pre-Release Discussion

What will the S operations be? Because irl the only aircraft that come under ‘small’ that still operates is Loganair’s E145 and ATR76. Will we see a return of the BAE146?

I’ve heard AMS/EHAM is a future candidate, so we might get another major airport, but that’s for later ofc

Icelandair?

I think we need the 2 runway operations for LHR, otherwise we keep looking at a lot of empty aprons.

I’m positive Heathrow does dual runway arrivals (or at least use to) on one of my spotting trips down there (about 2017) they were using both runways for arrivals. I did see L and R approaches in 2019 but it was prominently 27R with the BA A350 delivery using 27L

EDIT: Here we are, they do

Maybe they does but it’s not so easy to program it. Rather expect mechanics similar to IAD. LHR is functioning like that during 90% of their operational time.

If the plan is to use 27L arrivals, and the upcoming tower manager speeding up taxi times (hopefully reducing runway occupancy time?) we might see a higher input of aircraft

That is the plan

That would only be fine If the planes would rapidly exit the runways at higher speed.
I am sorry to say this but if that is not implemented the airport is gonna be messed up.
Or the best way is let the planes land on both runways.

It’s your job not to mess up  not game

Landings on LHR are on only one rwy at time. So don’t expect this please.

We don’t have E145 model so not.

Messed up as in empty. If the planes dont land quick it cant be my mistake that the airport is empty can it?

It depends how you will be managing landings. You will be able also to hire tower agent for managing landings and taxings. It will also speed up landings and taxing.

They were just examples of the only ‘S’ sized aircraft that opperate into LHR. Will the S arrivals be like Austrian and Czech Airlines turboprops?

Good point. It will probably be similar to IAD, where you’ll get a few S Local contacts, but then it will give you M locals as you run out

I think that would be more regional, but maybe not

I would assume BAE146s from MAN and other uk airports.

Don’t forget Aegean Airlines they use a A321NEO to Athens and JetBlue.

Hope it be added one day the E145 as Loganair use it at LHR, so the ATR 42 & 72 will be very busy doing the routes and not to mention our own aircraft.
