LHR Pre-Release Discussion

It’s popular in the US and was used in the Caribbean as well.

No Austrian use A320NEO into Heathrow, Czech don’t fly into Heathrow anymore so guess they could give you option of either ATR 72, B733 or A319. Other then that only small aircraft would be Loganair ATRs both variants, KLM EMB 175 and your own airlines small aircraft.

Perfect for Saint Maarten as well then.

I think BAE146 of BA is already in this game and we may have many…
Flybe also had 146 once so I would like to see many BAE146s in LHR.

Don’t forget the Swiss ones as well then at LHR as they use to operate at nearby London City Airport.

I took the time (no idea why I have so much time, probably because I’m so excited!) to see where British Airways flies and which airlines fly daily to LHR. I found 240 landings, excluding instances like Emirates landing at LHR about 10 times a day. This count only includes airlines flying to LHR. For example, Seattle is included because American Airlines, Delta, United, and, of course, British Airways fly from there to LHR daily.

I really hope a way is found to handle all these airlines in a shorter time than currently at IAD. I’m still in favor of a time-stop mode so you can continue where you left off instead of spending 4-5 hours daily handling all the planes just to start over.

I’m very curious!

Ya I think lhr should have at least 300+ landing slots minimum

SAS has a lot of slots. Just from Oslo up to five daily, then Copenhagen and Stockholm and I think Gothenburg?

As someone went to england for summer break, I think its only realistic if you add that crazy m25 traffic :joy:. My uncle has lived there for the past 20 years picked me, my brother and my parents up from the airport. He knows the city inside out. Despite that, we were only supposed to spend 12=5 minutes on that highway, but we ended up spending over an hour. And I wish I could say that was an exaggeration, but anyone who’s been In my situation knows its not :sob:.

It is not an exaggeration to say that. I grew up 2 hours north of LHR, there’s a reason why I now fly through AMS instead

Ironic because I am on the M25 right now and just went past LHR. Surprisingly quiet, even though I plane spot there so often it shocks me still on how quickly it dies down for the evening.

When I’ve been overnight, it’s amazing how one minute you’ve got constant arrivals then 10 minutes later it’s completely dead

I look on Wikipedia Heathrow Airport - Wikipedia and not sure what mean by pause button as game don’t carry on loading the aircraft when it’s off only that aircraft going to or from destination will be ready to land but then again you don’t have to land them straight away unless it’s rnfi

I think before lhr gets added we need a lot more african destinations bc lhr has many routes and connections there.

Before the pandemic Heathrow was like the Third busiest airport in the world. Believe it’s the eighth now and climbing but 2nd busiest in Europe behind Istanbul.

I just found out that in 2021 it was 54th :sob:
But either way it is an improvement because before, the airport that was the highest on the list was SAN and that didn’t even crack top 50

Definitely :100: hopefully they come with the new A350 & B787 like Kenya Airways and other airlines etc.

Yep it’s picked up again after two years.

But for the game you start small so hopefully it be Loganair with ATR 42/72 and it’s destinations like Isle of Man, Dundee, Londonderry etc just shame ERJ 145 not in the game.

Maybe we could have some BA cityflyer like the e190 or e170. That being said, BA cityflyer doesn’t even go to lhr so Idk. In general, there aren’t really a lot of S planes at lhr anyways so I’m guessing the local contracts will be some domestic or short haul international BA flights on the a319 or a320. That’s really as small as it gets at lhr :man_facepalming:.

The devs could always use the Flybe BAe146 as Flybe did fly into LHR for a few years before they collapsed, or even have the Flybe E175 added as a substitute for the Dash 8. The short lived reincarnation of flybe also served LHR, so top it off with some loganair flights it’s not as empty for small traffic as it may seem. Swiss use to send their BAe146s regularly
