MAN - Manchester 🇬🇧

2010 roster from wiki,

Missed a chunk  ,

Plus the AN 225,

MANs route network looks really odd without easyJet there, amazing how big they are at MAN now.

Went back to 2007, quite basic but you’re right no easyJet. Plenty of Jet2 though as well as a couple of airlines I’ve forgotten to suggest .

Love how little Ryanair operates back then

Reckon American Airlines will be back with XLR.

Swings and roundabouts for me. Yeah there was no easyjet, Ryanair was small, no gulf, RJ, ET etc.. but look at the variety that’s been lost short haul  and the American carriers also

The middle eastern airlines have snuck in where other carriers left like AA and such. Is a real pity and if we got this airport I’d have the 2000s style in place with a mix of 2010 and 2020 here and there.

Completely agree id have the same

Mad dog MD82 in 2005 taking off to MXP, travel city direct B743 circling around for landing in the top right.

I’d love to see this airport

Turns out you can go back to 2005 on wiki. Broke on me last night.

Reckon AA and UA will return when they get more XLRs, but look at when Singapore was doing flights to Houston from Manchester, they scrapped it because it wasn’t making money, even the Eithopa flight stops of in France.

I’d rather have nows airport but option of other flights, so you could bring American carriers back to MAN even Qantas, BA  Etc

Yeah completely. although i would miss getting to do the full iconic T2 lineup (though the new piers are so much nicer to travel through)

I miss the old way wikipedia did it with which airlines are in each terminal

Said it before, I’ll say it again, BA need to do what they did from Gatwick in the 90s, LGW-MAN-ISB

The crew would fly the Gatwick to Manchester leg, then overnight in Manchester, then the next day they’d fly the 777 from that day over to Islamabad. If you know what I mean?

Wasn’t that the whole idea behind the MAN-LGW resuming for a short while recently before it got axed again? With Aer Lingus UK being MAN based, I’m surprised Emerald haven’t started any domestic routes to feed into it, or have an A320 sent over from DUB for some feeder routes.

It is an iconic look,

2016,

2025,

And Etihad has moved today to terminal 2. Seems the new taxiway is open so no one way traffic jams. Not sure where the cargo is going now though.

The daily ASL plane gets parked round the STS hanger during the day. Any adhoc cargo will park either in the stands by the tower or on a taxiway like the national 747 a few weeks back.

Yesterday EK sent the 380 over there for the trial and they are last to move! All change

I believe easyJet is to move on the 19th the day after Emirates but I’m not sure. That’s cool about the 380 I’ll have to go back on FR24 lol

Edit; Just adding in, easyJet is to move across.

Where does A380 go now? On the new pier

Yeah, I’m not sure if there’s 1 stand that can handle them or 2.

Official move is next Tuesday. It was on there yesterday for a trial to test the equipment is all okay moving around it. The right side of the pier has all 3 gates being a380 capable. And EK will by the summer have a lounge that is gateside with direct boarding from it.
