Why should this airline be added?
The airline was founded in 2002 after the sale of a family leasure business based in Swansea, to the Avion Group based in Iceland, who also owned Air Atlanta amongst other airlines, operating a leased ATA Airlines L1011 for flights from Bournemouth and other airports in the UK, to Orlando. In 2004, the airline became an offshoot of XL Airways, operating under its own identity and mainly conducting flights out of Manchester, though it also operated from LGW, Glasgow and Cardiff, to North America, mainly Orlando, using the above 747s leased from Air Atlanta and operated by a mix of crews from XL and Air Atlanta. The airline continued operating until 2008 when the XL leisure group collapsed and Travel City was purchased by Virgin group. The airline ceased to exist but the company lasted another 10 years, with holidaymakers flying aboard VA’s aircraft. This is one I’ve been wanting to do for a while so thank you for opening the gates on this @Charlie
.
