No it’s going to be on the other 2 gates next to it. The main gate it will be on is closest to the main terminal building

Been a tad soggy in the North today, Manchester looks like a lake.

Indigo had their first flight to MAN on Monday. First time an Indian airline has flown to and from Manchester I believe.

Also 1964 terminal 1,

Jet airways flew in here before they went bump. and Air India flew it in the 90s via Rome

Ah, I see haha. Jet Airways had such a nice livery, pity they’re gone. Seems they used a A332.

And Air India used an A310, hence the Rome stop. Now that’s cool. Seems they also used the A300 and occasionally the 742.

yeah have a look at a lot of the far east airlines and QF in 80s/90s they all did various EU stops. EK started with a 310 via ZRH

Kangaroo flights Qantas calls them which I love. Quite an interesting read to see how the stops have gone from 80 odd between London and Sydney, to 0 next year with the new A350ULR.

It’s interesting that they seem to have got rid of Terminal 1 in name, but everything about it other than Pier B is still actually in use. T1 departures up to the small lounge after duty free is still open as T3 departures, then Pier C is having some work done on it and seems that it will be used as a satellite for T2.

Makes me wonder if Pier B will also be refurbished at some point and become a new part of T3?

I’m guessing so. No plans put forward to demolish anything.

What do they use the old T1 stands for now? Like at Heathrow the old T1 stands, they park the aircraft that arrive in the morning then wait till the evening flight so they park them there.

I think they are just acting as remote stands at the minute, I saw a video recently showing T1 in the condition it was a few weeks before its closure, and they had aircraft that normally go over at T2 parked up at Pier C and servicing them (even going as far as having jetbridges attached, but I’m assuming that’s something they are doing to make sure they still work properly, unless staff are using them instead of having stairs attached), before presumably towing them over to T2 for departure.

Yes its a good one but we have already so many airports in europe.

But i like it.

Ah but European airports are fun and challenging cause of their age and restrictions. We do need more airports worldwide lol

this is my ultimate dream airport above all else. especially if we get more of the classic liveries in the game. think id even prefer it pre T2 refurb so we can have the iconic long line up

I presume, if it ever comes, it will come all refurbished but likely with Terminal 1 still in full operational capacity. Agreed though, it’d be fabulous to have this option maybe before you build the new refurbished section.

If they did MANCHESTER, would you want the Ethiopian Airlines flight from Marseille with an option of their fleet.
