Model Aircraft (Sharepoint)

The older models they made (like the Gemini200 Thomas Cook A321) are pretty good, but, unless there isn’t an alternative, I wouldn’t bother with a lot of Gemini stuff.

Unfortunately they are really the only ones, as NG as more concerned with making each and every airline that is in the US or China.

I’ll most likely order the Gemini200 TUI 737 MAX thats due to come out but not sure what else to get, may try get a good second hand A321 or wait until they eventually do an Easyjet A320.

I wouldn’t get your hopes up for Gemini doing easyJet, keep a watch on JC Wings for them. I think J-Fox and Inflight200 make decent European narrowbodies though, I’ve seen a Thomas Cook 757-300, TUI 757, Monarch 757 and other stuff, goes for cheap on eBay as well.

This 737 could be my last 1:200 scale model if I’m honest, the variation is much better with 1:400 but we will see what occurs with releases in the future.

Being honest I’d just swap out for 1/400 anyways, you can pretty much get 2 models for the price of one and have a lot more of them. Only issue with 1/400 is inconsistencies with moulds and the quality of a manufacturer, granted these problems seem to be occurring in 1/200 as well.

Wouldn’t even go for 1/500, Herpa models look really rough lately and are very basic compared to 1/400. 1/600 is cheap and you get some interesting stuff, although it’s all pretty old now and a lot of it isn’t in the best condition.

Thanks for all this information that your giving me, got a bit of money to spend and don’t want it to go to waste. Glad to have someone around that knows their stuff!

Learn a thing or two when you’ve been collecting for a while, and these past couple of years been looking into stuff in more detail. Doesn’t help I spend loads of time on eBay scouting for rare models I’m after.

I don’t look to far into the corners of the Internet to find stuff :joy: My Dad’s best mate collects models as far as I’m aware, but only ones that he’s flown on so he may have a bit of searching and buying advice

There’s a small handful of models I’m trying get my hands on, either I find one or wait for someone to rerelease it, it’s the waiting game mostly.

Some of his models that I’ve dug up from the depths of my camera storage.

Had any luck of finding one of D-ABON yet?

Not yet, just got to hope my suggestion on the NG portal eventually gets released. They’ve just made the Rizzi Bird livery on the 757-200 so never say never.

Does anyone know any cheap (ish) model stores (either UK or US)? Or should i save the money i saved (wow thats a mouthful) and get what i want at the gatwick fair and then see what i have left over?

I would save for the Gatwick fair, im doing that right now. You can get better prices on every plane because you dont have to pay for postage!

Well talked a bit to Matt from avgeek models. He’s also going to the Gatwick fair. Not sure if he’ll be selling stuff there. If so might pick up some GSE. Also asked him for a Newcastle terminal. That’s predicted to be around £200 so that’s alright! After the Gatwick fair I’ll see what I have left and save from there!

Not a bad quote for the full terminal. Looking into a better terminal is something I’d like to do eventually, mostly for my proposed second airport I want to make at some point.
