Real World Aviation news

It could’ve been the weather. What I assumed happened is upon touchdown the tires lost grip, sending the plane sideways. Than when the tires regained grip, the plane was already sideways so it flung the plane over. Thats just a VERY wild guess

I heared it too. Pls post only facts about incidents/accidents and dont speculate.

Wdym? He didn’t speculate. And I clearly said it was a wild guess. We have no confirmed information on how things happened so we can only pray and wait :slightly_smiling_face:

And how am I speculating? :man_shrugging:

It was reactions after you.

The point i wanted to make that whe should not speculate at any incident/accident post because other incident or accident can have deaths involved.

  • Respect to family in that case
  • investigators can also without speculations on internet with clean eye do there work.

I don’t see why we shouldn’t. It’s not offending or disrespectful to the victims. It allows us to share our thoughts on what we think happened until official reports come in. You know what investigators do? They speculate. So no disrespect here :upside_down_face:

It’s not the same as making jokes about the incident. That’s a different story

Well i theory I’ve heard was there was a wing strike, causing the right wing to snap and then the aircraft tumbled over.

We’be been having some crazy snow and wind in southern Ontario lately, so I would assume it would something to do with that…

But thank God nobody died🙏

Yeah I heard the runway was icy

may all those be blessed who were involved in today’s horrific crash in Canada :two_hearts:

it is good that all survived this horrible crash

Yes, except that as of now, all passengers and crew involved survived, which considering the roller coaster they endured, should be a testament to modern aircraft safety design and airline attendant procedures (always wear your seatbelts folks, it could save you!)

That being said, in response to others’ opinions of how it might’ve happened, I’m in the boat of runway incursion, and just unfortunate alternating loss and gain of grip that started the tumble, which is made much easier given the winds (possibly crosswinds), ice, and snow present… much like how cars flip and start rolling when turned sideways at high speeds.

EDIT!
I’ve just seen extremely clear first hand footage (a pilot first in line waiting to depart at the runway the Delta landed on) and it appears that the Delta plane landed too hard, causing a gear collapse on the right side which led immediately to a wing strike/disintegration and precipitated, as believed earlier, into a role due to imbalance and friction. There were some gusty winds and a small crosswind component (runway 230 with winds roughly ~270ish) and that crosswind/windshear may have added to a loss of lift at touchdown. Obviously Canada’s investigative team will reveal the true details in time, but this video and the black box/pilot testimony will likely be the 3 greatest factors in determining cause.

Yes, one of pasengers of Asiana 214 don’t wear her seatbelts and she died in crash.

I mean it’s probably a good thing there was snow, probably prevented a bigger fire. I’ve seen the landing videos and the aircraft smacked down, no flare or anything. A bit questionable. Thankfully everyone survived.

The capacity of Chopin Airport is running out, so the possibility of rapid development of LOT Polish Airlines is limited. The national carrier’s adventure with Budapest will come to an end, but it is possible to launch an operational base in Prague. The Prague airport is already negotiating with LOT authorities on this matter.
