Real World Aviation News

For you SYD realism players. Qantas will start deploying the A220s to four new destinations in the coming winter (or I guess summer if you’re from Australia):

  • CBR: Canberra
  • CFS: Coffs Harbour
  • LST: Launceston
  • MCY: Sunshine Coast

Yeah that’s the thing, with European short haul it just seems like the legacy carriers are trying to match the no frills airlines, then you look at the US and they all have seatback screens!

I want to spot it next year.

Very odd in my opinion, In Spain I would have done something like Málaga before Palma

Palma might be more popular with Canadians than Malaga.

United also flies to Palma from EWR with a 767-300 but doesn’t fly to Malaga. It might be a more popular choice for North Americans. Also, unlike Malaga, you’d have to fly out to see any other cities whereas Malaga has rail access from Madrid and Barcelona which United also fly too. Might have something to do with it.

Air Austral will be removing its A220s, citing unacceptable serviceability issues. The airline is considering replacing the aircraft with the 737MAX or A320neo.
