Where did wheel end up?
After ordering 30 Dreamliners two weeks ago Delta has ordered some more Airbuses. The order is for 31 Airbus widebody aircraft, including 16 A330-900neos and 15 A350-900s, with deliveries starting 2029 and securing 20 additional future widebody options from Airbus for capacity. The deal grows Delta’s A330-900 fleet to 55 aircraft and its A350 fleet to 79, including 20 A350-1000s arriving from 2027.

I wonder if Delta is hedging their bets with both companies, or playing them against eachother back and forth for better prices. Or maybe they didn’t know what to do with all their earnings this year (and couldn’t just give it all to the board members)… so they were like “I little bit of these, some of those, a couple of these…”

I hate to say it but I’m more than willing to bet FedEx retires theirs, too. I mean it would logically make sense for the company. Hopefully WGA keeps theirs around a little longer.

Starlux have announced two new liveries entering service in Q3 2026. The airline are turning two Airbus A350-1000, which are named Starlux Airsorayama Silver (B-58553) and Starlux Airsorayama Gold (B-58554), which were done up by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama as part of Flying Masterpiece.

Could also be a way of getting a better deal on short haul aircraft. Maybe Boeing is more willing if you buy a few of their big fellas. It’s a very odd strategy.

It will be a real pity if thats the case. Fancied getting myself down to Stansted as they throw one across every now and then but it might be I never see one now

FedEx have said they not retiring the MD-11F. Hope to return them on 31st May.

Air India has converted 15 of its existing Airbus A321neo orders to the A321XLR variant, announced at Wings India 2026 in Hyderabad. The aircraft will be delivered between 2029 and 2030 and will support new nonstop international routes for Air India.

Well… westjet and a lot of other low cost airlines use 737 max 8s, air Canada (by ~2030) will have 787-10s in the long haul fleet, so no 777s and A330s, and 737 max 8s are being moved to rouge, and the main air Canada fleet will have A321xlrs and… A220s so it’s not as diverse as it is now but I can see air Canadas vision to make servicing the planes
