SYD Pre Release Discussion

Qantas don’t have the BAE146 in service anymore so it probably won’t be added at least for now

I mean they could. The BAE146 is not in service for BA and look at LHR. Especially considering the F100 model does not exist yet.

Oh yea I forgot :skull_and_crossbones:

If sydney is eastern Australia, we could really benefit from the a320 remodel, seeing as air new Zealand can operate an A320 from a variety of Airports as well as Australia post a321Fs being the first Freighter of the a320 series, I’d almost think the devs would want to prioritize the a320 remodel before they finish syd, but that’s me

I did a similar idea to remodel all of the A320 series

I suspect it will be separated by terminals rather than sizes.

34L for international terminal and 34R for domestic terminal. I also suspect if the other direction to be used in the game to reduce taxi time for most planes.

I would think with the volume of aircraft they will so the A320 family separately. The A320 alone is a tall task and the A321 ceo and NEO will be even larger.

True, but the sooner they get it done, the better. A320 family aircraft are literally everywhere, so the longer they take and the more airports they add, the harder it’s going to be for them to get it remodeled.

It’s kinda why I wish they had remodeled it the same time as the 737. Think about how hard it would be to do now as opposed to three years ago.

Guys the 320 model is slated to come after the 350. March at the earliest more like April/May realistically. So can’t be sooner. So let’s keep that in mind with all this discussion

Thanks

To put into perspective, when is SYD expected? Do we even have a date for that

I don’t know but my guess is probably May or June

I also think it’s more likely to be summer. It was once said that each airport needs about half a year.
A lot has to happen before that:

LHR has to run perfectly (still a lot to do)
Airplane rework (A350/A320)
IAD rework

There is definitely no time for boredom

While LHR was definitely hurried, I think 6 months is now a little long, so my gut says May. Always can be proven wrong, but that’s where I’m pitching things right now

yea why would we have it rn? a 737 cant reach any playable airport from there, but i hope they add it and some qantas m/s planes like the dhc8 or the a220 with the special livery

I think originally they meant that no 737 will reach a WOA airport (e.g. SAN, MCT, NGO).
They will add a lot of airports in Australia, New Zealand or Oceania in general.

If, for example, A320s are unlocked when leveling up, they will of course not be able to reach a WOA airport. Either you sell them to complete more contracts or the level system is completely changed so that, for example, B788s or A306 are unlocked in a timely manner to reach WOA airports.

Or have I misunderstood your question

Ngo is too far for any Ms (apart from maxes and NEO’s I think) to reach a playable airport, yet they are still in the level rewards, I doubt it will change

Yes, that was the case so devs have no need to do a QF B738 at this moment.

Devs have to do a comprehensive visit to current/future QF fleet and probably previous fleet (such as A35K, B462 and BCS3).

Similar thing may be also required for VA.

Connectivity to playable airports for M airplanes is also a major concern and I suggest an airport in Southeast Asia region can help, ideally SIN, KUL, BKK or CGK from my idea…

Good news about syd. Do you know those cool bridges that Lee has where the taxiway passes over the road? Well syd has them too!

But hopefully they get added into the game because there are a few at lhr but those didn’t get added(partly due to the airport being rushed)

Had that at Honolulu too. You had to drive on base to go under it, but it was also a taxiway that led out by the beach to the coral runway on the ocean. JBPHH had a military golf course in the middle of HNL that the road led to, and I played once or twice. HNL was actually a fantastic plane spotting airport, more so if you could get on base as beaches were directly under the landing path. All types and sizes of aircraft too.

TomMordon had mentioned in the discord that the devs were hoping to do at least 3 airports in 2024. So I’m personally hoping for March or April, otherwise the year is starting far from on track.
