Aircraft Types Used (from those available in WoA)
(For this airline, some types are already available in WoA, some not.)Before we begin, it’s important to note that there were two main liveries used by TAESA - specifically regarding the tail section. The first variant, as you’ll see below, kept the tail section as a basic white, meanwhile the second variant, with a yellow tail, will be shown a bit below the first. Some aircraft only had one livery variant.
Aircraft operated (already in-game):
ATR 42 (-320, AT43): 2 former.
(Pictured below: XA-RME - now known as 5Y-BUN)Boeing 737 (-200 to -500, B732/B733/B734/B735): 31 former (5/19/2/5 for each variant, respectively).
(Note 2: As per my prior Carnival Air Lines post, I am aware most of the 737 types are not in-game. However, given that they are in active development, and partly for consistency’s sake, they will be added in this section.)
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-200 XA-SLC - now known as PK-YTS)
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-200 XA-SIW)
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-300 XA-RJR - now known as PK-CKF)
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-300 XA-TMB - now known as LY-GGC)
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-400 XA-SCA - later scrapped)
Interestingly, for the next 737, it had an entirely different paint scheme from any of the two livery variants, here’s what I mean:
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-400 XA-TKM / N242GD [as seen] - later broken up)(Pictured below: Ditto, but with the original ‘yellow tail’ livery variant)
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-500 XA-SAC - now known as N646CS, preserved[?])
(Pictured below: Boeing 737-500 XA-RKQ - later scrapped)
Boeing 757 (-200, B752) - 7 former.
(Pictured below: XA-TMU - now known as RA-73029)(Pictured below: XA-KWK - now known as N973FD)
And again, with the third variation:
(Pictured below: XA-RLM - now known as C-FKAJ)Boeing 767 (-300, B763) - 1 former.
(Pictured below: XA-SKY - now known as RA-73080)(Pictured below: Ditto, but with the yellow tail livery scheme)
Aircraft operated (not in-game):
A300 (B4, A30B) - 2 former.
(Pictured below: XA-SYG - later damaged beyond repair in 2012)DC-9 (-10 and -30, DC91/DC93) - 6 former (5/1 for both variants, respectively).
(Pictured below: DC-9-10 XA-SZC - status unknown)(Pictured below: DC-9-30 XA-TKN, later damaged beyond repair in 1999)
DC-10 (-30, DC10) - 3 former, 1 cargo conversion.
(Pictured below: XA-SYE - later scrapped)And yet again we have some more livery variations, and it seems they were specifically for these specific aircraft types (in other words, not featured on any other aircraft for one reason or another), here’s what I mean:
(Pictured below: Ditto, but leased to Dominicana de Aviacion, hence the text and small flags under the cockpit windows)Interestingly, the airline operated one DC-10 as a converted freighter, and it had a very unique livery:
(Pictured below: DC-10-30CF XA-TDC - later scrapped)For context, NSW / New Southways was supposedly a cargo division of the airline. Little info exists on it, at least as far as I could find, and it seems as if XA-TDC was the division’s only aircraft.
Fokker F27 Friendship (F27) - 1 former.
(Pictured below: XA-RMB - status unknown, possibly scrapped; information is scarce)MD-87 (MD87) - 2 former.
(Pictured below: XA-RUO - status unknown)Boeing 727 (-100, -200, B721/B722) - 16 former (14/2 for each variant, respectively).
(Pictured below: Boeing 727-100 [-51] XA-ASS - status unknown)
(yes.. that is its registration)(Pictured below: Boeing 727-100 [-23] XA-SYA - status unknown)
(Pictured below: Boeing 727-100 [-64] XA-RRB - status unknown)
Interestingly, there was actually a record of some aircraft having a bare metal livery (likely because they were ex-American Airlines aircraft), have a look:
(Pictured below: Boeing 727-100 [-23] XA-SYA, now with bare metal livery)And finally, to cap off the -100 series, there was at least one airframe converted to a freighter:
(Pictured below: Boeing 727-100 [-14F] XA-RRA - status unknown)(Pictured below: Ditto, but with another bare metal scheme, operated for DHL by TAESA)
Now, onto the -200:
(Pictured below: Boeing 727-200 XA-SPH - i think you get the idea by now, status unknown)
Why should this airline be added?
I’d say this airline should be added because, as you might guess, this airline had an astonishingly wide-ranging fleet and a multitude of liveries, especially for a low-cost airline that existed for just over 10 years.
While I’m unsure of if it would be added as a normal map contract airline from MEX, it would make for a brilliant set of special liveries, nonetheless, singlehandedly adding a lot more variety to Mexico on that front. As per its Wikipedia page (linked down below) the airline catered to lots of international flights; to name a few, flights to FRA, LEJ, IAD, JFK, LAS, LAX, OAK, NRT, and supposedly Canada were established (no exact airport is listed, however). Such is why I personally would like to see it as a map contract, or at least as special contracts, such as at LEJ or IAD, or possibly a Mexican airport in the future… who knows?
