PRI - Primera Air Scandinavia

:airplane: Airline Name
:denmark: Primera Air Scandinavia

IATA: PF / ICAO: PRI / Callsign: PRIMERA

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Country of Origin
:denmark: Denmark

:airplane_departure: Aircraft Types Used (from those available in WoA)
A21N (A321-200NEO) (5 operated),

B738 (737-800) (7 operated),

B737 (737-700) (not yet in-game) (2 operated),

The airline also had 20 737-900MAX’s on order but went bust before the first was delivered. However one was partially painted before going onto Samoa who also didn’t take it up due to the grounding and thus it ended up with Alaska,

B39M (737-9 MAX) (None operated, 20 on order),

The MAX 9 would be a really cool addition,

:pushpin: Why should this airline be added?

The airline began as JetX in Iceland in 2003 before it was bought by Primera Travel Group in 2009 who transferred the operations to Denmark and ended the JetX operations. In 2014 they launched Primera Nordic based in Riga only operating the 2 737 variants.

Both operated flights from across Scandinavia, the Baltics and Iceland to destinations in Southern Europe, the Canaries, the Azores and Eastern US. They had a license to operate from CDG to Europe as well as later to Boston and Newark. Previously the airline had one Transatlantic route competing with WOW from Keflavik to New York but it expanded quickly to have routes from CDG, Birmingham and Stansted to Newark and Boston with Stansted also getting a route to IAD. This expansion however had risks and the delayed delivery of the Neo’s led to that hefty risk killing the airline quickly after it’s expansion. They had plans in 2019 to launch more flights from Frankfurt and Madrid across the pond to JFK, Boston and Toronto with FRA also getting Montreal. This would’ve been served by the 737MAX9 but alas the airline had collapsed already and the type had fatal accidents and was grounded for a time so likely wouldn’t have helped.

Wasn’t they like one of the first ones to get A321LR

I believe they were yes. They were too quick to expand and that was one of the reasons for their downfall.
