So continuing on from my earlier Manchester (Will do more to show other potentials here and tidy it up some), Vancouver (Also covers Calgary) and Palma di Mallorca posts, I wanted to display some of the potential local airlines and special liveries that we could see at Stockholm. Personally think it’s the second best option after Copenhagen for a Scandinavian airport, just cause I think CPH’s layout is cooler but ARN has a unique layout and lots of cool types, airlines and liveries we could potentially see.
So without further ado, let’s go!
[Fyi, this took nearly 7 hours of hard research to compile and I may have missed a couple so please pop a reply if there is something and I can add it in
]
Liveries,
To begin with, post-2010 liveries for airlines we already have in-game that would be good to see. I’ll be including aircraft types that are coming to the game here too but other types will further down,
A319 (Currently used irl on the route to PRG sometimes),
A320 old livery (3 of the original 13 are still flying and have been in and out of Zurich this year),
A321 (All 8 retired by 2023, on takeoff at INN below),
A20N old livery (These still fly regularly on all European routes),
B735 (Retired by 2013, all operated in the Braathens colours as below but unlike the B734, they operated for SAS mainline as well),
B736 (Retired the final of the 30 operated in November 2019),
B737 (Only 1 painted into this livery),
B737 old livery (1 still flying with the airline as a Medivac aircraft, it’s also one without winglets which is unique),
CRJ9 old livery (One or two I believe might still wear it, the last Planespotters photo of it is from July this year),
DH8D,
CRJX (This was an Iberia half paint so I’ve only put it here cause I like the CRJX and we have bugger all in-game so this could be a bonus, though I’d prefer it not to take the place of another CRJX or another type on this list),
A319,
TUI Nordic (The whole of TUI needs sorting out tbf, did a post here but needs going over again),
B38M,
B738 (Worn until the type was retired in 2021),
B752 (Retired in 2011),
B763 waves (Is in-game but Nordic doesn’t have long haul),
B789 (Only 1 operated),
Corsairfly B744,
The above two, all pictured at ARN btw, (One we have in-game) were regulars in the late 2000s and early 2010s, operating for TUIfly Nordic on routes to Phuket, Bangkok and other long haul holiday destinations which I think they’d be perfect additions for players who want a 747 international local. Evidence on Jetphotos lol.
West Atlantic Sweden (West Air Sweden in here too),
B738F new livery,
West Air Europe livery,
FarCargo (Operated by the airline above),
B752,
Types not in-game post-2010,
SAS SB20 (Only 1 was operated but would be excellent to see),
MD87 (Till 2013),
MD82 (Till 2013),
F50 (6 operated for a short time into 2010),
Braathens Regional SB20 (First livery and second livery, both post-2010),
West Atlantic ATPF (2 livery variants),
Pre-2010 types,
HS748,
TUI Nordic Fritidsresor.se/Star Tour.no B738 (A personal favourite which survived till 2009 and one I’d personally love to see and operate at any future ARN),
TUIfly Nordic Fritidsresor.se B752,
TUIfly Nordic Finnmatkat.fi B752 (Was for the Finnish version but Nordic is one airline and group and this was a regular at ARN,
SAS MD90 (Till 2006),
Airlines
I’m going to throw airlines in here from post 2010 first and then pre-2010. I will be throwing airlines mixed in who have no types in-game but I’ll keep them to the bottom of the list. Makes it easier. Cargo will also be listed.
Current,
Populair (Currently flying and Europe’s last Fokker 50 operator),
Amapola Flyg (Same operator as above),
Norwegian Air Sweden (Yes the B738 is in-game from Sweden but the airline itself is the same as Norwegian in-game and is lacking the B38M),
B38M,
Västflyg,
Previous,
Thomas Cook Scandinavia,
A320 (Both globe and heart),
A321 (Globe, heart and final grey heart - The latter is the exact same as the final TCX livery so 2 for 1 on the liveries),
A332 (Globe, heart and grey heart operated - final is same as above, same livery as TCX),
A333 (All 3 operated),
Braathens International Airways (Went bust 2025, isn’t the same airline as the Braathens in-game and above but was its sister, hence the identical livery but why I’ve split them),
A319,
A320,
Air Leap (2018-2022 based out of both Stockholm’s),
AT75,
SF34,
Primera (A Danish airline but operated a lot out of Stockholm),
A21N,
B738,
B737,
B39M (Never delivered due to bankruptcy but was part painted as you can see below),
NextJet (Airline had a varied livery set so including all here),
SF34,
AT72,
ATP,
B190D,
Related to NextJet is Arctic Airlink (Flew from Luleå),
SF34,
Skåneflyg,
Novair (A321 operated until 2017 when replaced with the A21N which operated until 2023 when it went bankrupt),
A21N final livery,
Earlier Apollo livery,
A321,
Pre-2010 liveries are through the link of the airline above.
Malmö Aviation,
B463 (2 varied liveries),
B462,
SB20,
Sverigeflyg (Was the combined name for 6 regional airlines in Sweden (Blekingeflyg, FlySmaland, Gotlandsflyg, Kalmarflyg, Kullaflyg, and Sundsvallsflyg), some aircraft operated by NextJet, some by Golden Air and others by Avitrans Nordic. For the purpose of this post I’m going to show the branded Sverigeflyg bits at the top here and then the non-branded operators underneath as part of the respective airlines),
AT75,
ATP,
SB20,
Alternate tail,
Golden Air/Avitrans Nordic/NextJet operated on behalf of the 6 airlines. However, below I have split up each of the 6 airlines as I feel it would be even cooler to also have those airlines serving the regional routes as they did from between 2001-2006 until they were merged together into the above in 2014. (2011 site for Sverigeflyg) (To find the correct airline IATA/ICAO/Callsign, would have to look at the operator of the aircraft and then use theirs).
So firstly is Gotlandsflyg operating using the green tail from Visby in Gotland to Gothenburg, Stockholm Bromma and Arlanda,

SF34 (2 variants),
AT75,
ATP,
F50,
Second is Blekingeflyg who flew from Ronneby,

SF34,
SB20,
Third is flysmaland who flew from Växjö,

SF34,
Fourth is Kalmarflyg who flew from Kalmar,

SF34,
Fifth is Kullaflyg who flew from Ängelholm/Helsingborg,

SB20,
AT75,
And the final one is Sundsvallsflyg who flew from Sundsvall,

F50,
SB20,
Golden Air specific liveries,
SF34,
SB20,
Flyglinjen Vätterbygden,
JS31,
F50,
Air Åland (Obviously not a local airline but one that would be only for the airport if it was added - Operated until 2012 only flying to ARN and HEL with 2 SF34’s),
SF34 (Final livery and earlier one),
Skyways (Till 2012),
F50 (First 2 final livery, last one is the mid-late 2000s livery),
SF34,
JS32,
E145 (Early 2000s),
Direktflyg (Till 2016),
JS32,
F50,
City Airline (Until 2012 — Gothenburg-based, but operated regular services to ARN. The airline was developing Gothenburg as a regional hub, including routes that provided an alternative to travelling via Stockholm so it was a livery seen multiple times daily at ARN),
E135,
E145,
SB20,
MD87,
Air Sweden (Till 2011),
A320,
MD81,
Tor Air (Till 2011),
B734,
Pre-2010,
This top one is an ish as it still ran post 2010. Same applies less so to MyTravel Scandinavia which had become TCX Scan but the livery was still about. Rest would be ace to see but some might be going back too far. Would love Snowflake and the MD80 operators further down.
SAS Braathens/Norge (The Braathens branding was phased out after the airline was integrated into SAS but aircraft continued to appear in the Braathens-derived livery for several years. Norwegian-operated services were regular visitors to ARN from Oslo and other Norwegian cities, likely having multiple aircraft on the ground at once at ARN),
B734,
B735,
B736,
B737,
B738,
MyTravel Scandinavia (It could easily be copied across to add the UK airline - Same livery),
A320,
A321,
A332,
A333,
MCA Airlines (Till 2009),
F100 (A must for this type alone I sat lol),
A320 (Purple splodge at the top of the tail is just bad covering from being leased from Smartlynx. Should be white),
Norwegian Air Sweden (Both types were retired in 2009),
MD82,
MD83,
FlyNordic (Based out of ARN, bought out by Norwegian and repainted into the above livery),
MD82 (Final livery and previous livery),
MD83 (Final livery and previous livery),
Nordic Leisure (Based out of ARN),
MD81 (Only 1 operated and wore this livery its entire time with the airline),
MD82,
MD83,
MD87,
MD90 (2 operated and wore this livery their entire time with the airline),
Nordic Regional (Part of the airline above),
MD87,
SF34,
FlyMe (Till 2007 and based out of ARN),
B733,
B735,
Swedline Express (Till 2006, did routes in and out of ARN as part of its network),
SB20,
SF34,
Swe fly (2003-2005),
B762,
F50,
Britannia Nordic (Till 2006),
B752,
B738,
And a personal favourite, SAS Snowflake (Was a short-lived experiment by SAS but I love the bright yellow contrasted with the snowy, icy SAS fuselage colour),
B738,
MD82,
GoodJet (Till 2003. This is a new one to me and I thought it was cool. I know its 23 years ago but with the 2 types, I think it could fit being at ARN especially with a unique livery lol. I think the GOODjet.com over the nose is something really unique),
A320,
B752,
Bonus 1990s airlines I think could be cool here or just merely as a special livery for below,
Sunways (1995-1997 but has a cool livery, 757 could be good to see),
MD83,
B752,
Blue Scandinavia,
B752,
L101,
Premiair (Was Danish but was formed of Conair of Denmark and Scanair of Sweden and had a base at ARN, just like its successor above MyTravel, TCX Scan and ofc Sunclass),
A332,
DC10,
A30B,
A333 (This aircraft continued flying all the way to Sunclass btw),
A320,
Special liveries or airlines/types of importance for pass,
NextJet SF34 Skidlandslaget (Swedish National Skiing Team) livery (Also known as Ski Force One in spotter circles),
Golden Air AT75 Aer Arann hybrid (4 Aer Arann aircraft wore the Celtic circles livery which was their rebrand but they scrapped it within a year and sold on a chunk of their fleet, one of which went to Golden air who half repainted it. They also took on a second ex-Aer Arann aircraft which served 1 day with its previous owner),
Malmö Aviation SB20 Skidlandslaget (Swedish National Skiing Team) livery,
Malmö Aviation B463 Swedish football team (Either one of the 2),
Malmö Aviation B463 Dagens Industri livery,
SB20 Golden Air Star Wars livery,
Scanair DC10,
Scanair MD83,
SAS B742 80/90s livery,
SAS B742 70/80s livery,
And as a final one, I think a Braathens is suitably apt because the current Braathens descends from the Swedish subsidiary and it was SAS’ biggest competitor in Europe throughout the 20th century before being merged in the mid-2000s,
B737 in final livery,
B735 in 90s livery,
Or an F100,
An even more final one, this livery appeared at ARN once or twice but could make for an interesting regional special. The Estonian Air B733 2011 capital of culture,
Thought I’d also add some airlines/liveries of the region that would now have range if the airport was added.
DH8B Widerøe,
Finncomm Airlines,
E170,
E145,
FlyBe Nordic,
AT75,
Norra,
AT75,
Air Finland,
B752,
Norwegian Long Haul (I believe they did a few flights from ARN so I’m also chucking them in lmao),
B788,
Another one, Estonian air can have more of its smaller types make sense here as it did operate a regular route to ARN from Tallinn (Link) with the E170 and CRJ9 with the 737’s occasionally turning up,
SF34 (Was an Estonia only type but I could see it doing ARN to smaller Estonian city, otherwise we’d never see it unless Tallinn was added in the future),
CRJ9,
